DOD for me too. I thought maybe it would be an interesting colour for smokey eye. Disappointing another black mascara

pattyparsnip · 13/12/2024 13:01

I don't mind this . Not very exciting but it will get used . I've tried this before , it's good but cheaper brands do as good job imo .

LivinInYourBigGlassHouseWithAView · 13/12/2024 16:50

I'm happy with mascara because if I don't use it my daughter will 😂

Thelifeofawife · 13/12/2024 22:45

I’m happy with todays, I remembered it being in the AC and was looking forward to trying it.

I’ve been having trouble with my usual mascara lately, with the temperatures in work it’s making me panda eyed. I have tried a couple of waterproof ones as well but makes no difference.
If anyone has any recommendations how to deal with this or what to use, it would be much appreciated!

virgocatlover · 14/12/2024 06:58

Today's Votary mask is worth £55. A nice size and a brand I've liked in the past.

It's a bit of a DoD for me - nothing against Votary, I really like their products but I just don't use masks enough and have lots in my stash so I think this may end up on Vinted

CorneliaStreet · 14/12/2024 08:39

Never tried anything from this brand so looking forward to giving this a go. I’m a bit rubbish at bothering with masks, so hopefully this will motivate me!

Have you tried tubing mascaras? I find them much less smudgy than normal mascaras. All of the Eyeko brand are tubing and I really rate them

Hadenough2022 · 14/12/2024 09:17

Re mascara I agree that tubing mascaras are much better for not smudging. I had a Trish McAvoy one in the Liberty calendar a couple of years ago that I liked.
Not tried Bobbi Brown mascara but I’m always happy with a mascara to try.
Today’s Votary mask: I was surprised there weren’t instructions on how to use -another product that’s out of the box? It puts me off a little bit.

clary · 14/12/2024 09:30

This is a big hitter for me - I have bought this before and it was really great :) v happy

MathsFiend · 14/12/2024 10:44

I'm looking forward to trying this one. High hopes for Votary products.

@Thelifeofawife agree with others that tubing mascaras could solve your problem. I use Clinique lash power and rate it highly.

LivinInYourBigGlassHouseWithAView · 14/12/2024 13:21

I've liked the previous 2 Votary products I've gotten in calendars in previous years, so looking forward to trying this one.

Thelifeofawife · 14/12/2024 13:39

@Roundaboot @Hadenough2022 @MathsFiend Thank you for your advice and recommendations 😊
I’ve heard of tubing mascara before but, I’m not going to lie, I’ve no idea what it is. I’ll take a look and fingers crossed this will solve my issue; I’m hopeful!

Thelifeofawife · 14/12/2024 13:40

Todays product is one I have wanted to try.
I agree with others that it’s annoying to have products with no box/instructions

Lexy70 · 14/12/2024 17:25

Yes I wish we had instructions, does anybody know if this mask is gentle to use. I'm a bit worried it might be harsh due to the acids in it x

virgocatlover · 15/12/2024 07:43

Today we have a Ghost perfume. I knew this was coming, I haven't tried this before so will try and use for Christmas.

Not sure about this perfume not something I would pick but it might grow on me. Not keen on the bottle found it fiddly and could be easily spilled

MathsFiend · 15/12/2024 10:06

Have had the perfume on for about an hour, it's OK not something I would choose to buy. But a nice way to try out perfumes I don't know

hby9628 · 15/12/2024 11:24

I like ghost perfume but I've had it before also you can often get this brand quite cheap so not such a treat gift. I'll use it though so it won't be wasted.

hby9628 · 15/12/2024 11:30

I've just been reading a bit about the votary face mask. I've never heard of this before but I'm going to give it a go later reviews look good

Lexy70 · 15/12/2024 12:45

I tried the votary mask last night and it was very gentle. Quite like today's perfume x

I found that it made my skin feel as tho it had done something iyswim but I wouldn't say it was harsh.

Thelifeofawife · 15/12/2024 18:01

I already told off the Ghost perfume and substituted it for Lumene CC cream when it was on Boots £10 Tuesday deal

Opened it to smell and split some, so annoyed it isn't a spray one. Hmm

virgocatlover · 16/12/2024 08:05

A nice full size Murad eye serum today. I will try this tonight.
