Hi, just an update on my Aldi lip oil - I used the Berry colour today over a lipstick and outlined with my bargain ELF lip pencil. Hours later the colour looked just as it had at 7.15am and no running/smudging.

My lips felt a teensy bit dry - might try a bit of balm over the top tomorrow, but they looked great.

Re: ELF pencil - I hadn’t used a lip pencil since I once spent two hours as a student trying to do a neat line, (it broke me 🙀). However, someone told me recently that it’s better to put your lipstick on, then go round it with the pencil. I am sure everyone else knows this already, but it was a revelation to me 😹 The ELF pencil really stays put, but with the lip oil as well, together they are unshiftable, (in a good way!)

Been lurking on here for a while (since my Harrods beauty calendar arrived on 2nd September!) & never commented but hmmm… mine hasn’t been delivered yet but I will be disappointed. They 100% showed a boxed set of the fragrances on their Instagram video advertising this box. They also showed a sneak peek of what looked like a CT full size magic cream without the lid on, then after they sold out they showed a longer video that showed the gold lid with CT branding on before removing it to show the jar and cream… I of course wasn’t expecting a full size given the value but was expecting a mini. I feel like this is 2x false advertising just for one box.

Yes exactly. The only reason I decided to go for this mystery box was that the reveal of the hand set and CT perfume set would make good gifts, even if the rest was a load of tat.

I am sorry to hear of problems with BBB. I keep nearly ordering but I don’t think mystery boxes are for me, (especially after my recent GB problem 🙀)

If anyone gets a response to a complaint from BB, please let us know.

@AmateurExpertSkincare I never saw the video with the CT cream so that wasn't something I was expecting. It's really not okay.

Seems like false advertising from BB; they're promo about 'sets' that could be regifted definitely convinced a lot of people to buy it.

I was debating buying the £30 BB set, despite not being wowed by the Black Friday box that I purchased. Thought it would at least mean two presents would be sorted with the CT perfume gift set and hand wash/cream duo even if there was nothing else of note. I went on,I've and it was sold out. Glad I missed it. I would not be happy with those perfume samples....

Just had a notification mine is being delivered tomorrow.

Reiterating what pinkchampagne said, it’s not your fault! I’ve been umming and ahhhing over them for ages and the advertising videos are what finally made me buy one!

Sorry to pop in so very late in the thread(s)! My partner got me the No7 advent calendar this year because she knows I love watching YouTube videos of unboxing and reviewing fancy advent calendars during Christmas time (bonus points if they’re disappointing) and I’ve never got one for myself.

anyone else had a burst bottle of primer on day 10? It was wrapped in greaseproof paper so they clearly knew this was a design flaw in the bottle, nothing else (including other glass bottles) has been wrapped inside the boxes until now.

Thank you both. I hate the idea that others were also duped into something not as advertised but no it isn't on me really.

I assume my box will be the same as everyone else's when it arrives, and it sounds really disappointing. I've had loads of the BB boxes, and with one exception, I've been pleased with them and thought they were good value, but this one sounds much worse than usual. I can't see anywhere that says this can't be returned, so if it's full of stuff that I won't use when it arrives, I'll ask to return it.

Sorry to hear this. I'm not sure if I've seen anyone here unboxing No7. I would definitely contact Boots CS and ask for a replacement though.

I love getting everyone's recommendations here and I share my own suggestions too on the understanding it's given in good faith.

My BB box is due tomorrow and I really wanted the CT set. I may complain, will decide when I see the other contents

Sorry to hear about the bridal beauty fiasco. As you may remember I was boycotting due to their terrible customer service and my name in fake reviews! I'm still convinced at one point one of their staff was on here fiddling about .

Anyway totally agree re the use of the word "kit " ..very misleading.
Really annoying when you thought you were buying products to gift .
They are taking the total pee ! Annoyed for you all.
Was this a "charity so no returns " deal ? Which by the way I'm sure cannot be allowed ?

Is that Jurlique facial oil I can see in your pic? If so check the best before date, the one I got in one of their boxes is expiring in May 2025

@diamondsandrose It wasn’t sold as a charity box and the description did not mention no returns so fully expect they have to take returns under distance selling etc. Am sure their inbox will be full of very unhappy people as these boxes start getting delivered.

I've just had a look at the emails I received advertising this latest box and it defiiiteky refers to the fragrances as being the 'discovery set' and there is a photo of the kit, not individual samples.

It definitely showed the actual perfumes kit.
I looked at the emails and all the instagram content before and after ordering and I even checked on CT website RRP £25 sold out but available on Harrods website for £17.50 . This I actually want for myself, so not a big problem there are individual samples if the quantity is the same. I would have been annoyed if I meant to gift it.

I absolutely understood it very clearly the Jurlique set hand wash and lotion would come in an original box. That in particular I wanted as a nice gift for my neighbour.

It is a shame that there is such a difference between expectation and reality for these 2 main items.

I'm not too fussed about what else I get because I'm very likely to like and use most of it, as it has been the case in the past.
I really enjoy these boxes but the only one time I order with a clear purpose, it's not going as expected by the sounds of it.

@OvaHere please don't feel bad. I definitely don't need encouragement, I buy these boxes quite often, even when I tell myself not to. I will have a break for a few months though.

I'll reserve full judgement on my box until it actually arrives tomorrow. If I was buying it purely for me I'd be far less bothered about the presentation of the sets however it's still not okay to mislead nor update people that the known portion of the box could not be fulfilled as described.

This was the same shorter video they were using to advertise the recent mystery box that they’re now also using to advertise their current offerings. Not sure if they also used it for earlier boxes but I saw it for the first time on the box many of us have bought.

I’m trying to recall if there is CT Magic Cream in ANY of the images of boxes I have seen across their offering? If nobody has seen received it in any I think it is incredibly misleading to keep showing it like you’re likely to get it ? Not to mention a full size one.
