Currently debating whether to trek all the way to Aldi to see if I can get my mitts on those skincare dupes. It’s such a foul day, it’s not like I’ll be wanting to do anything else afterwards.

Would it be wrong to send DH with instructions and pictures of the desired items under the guise of us needing toilet roll? (What could possibly go wrong? This is a man who can’t find the Middle of Lidl, never mind identify key items in it!)

Decisions, decisions😹

I understand why you wouldn't want to. My Aldi is 5 minutes away and I can't be bothered.

Hi @OvaHere - just on way back- got to Aldi at 10.15 and no La mer dupes apart from the serum - I left that as realised it has nuts in it. Clearly people had cleared the shelves at 10am or the staff had put the stuff out last night and ditto.

I will post pics of what I did get on my return.

Glad I went early as, yet again, people were opening everything!

I used fairly typical - the bronzer around my forehead, temples & top of cheekbones (like a C), the blusher on my cheeks, the highlighter on top of cheekbones, under eyebrows and down the middle of my nose (although it is pink, it doesn’t look it on the face, it’s just a nice shimmer), and finishing powder as needed.

My only slight niggle is that the colours are too close together for a bigger brush.

Next time I’m going to try it as an eyeshadow palette as I use a lot of pinks anyway so think this combo will work well for me

I’m trying to resist a trip to Aldi, I have so much stuff to wade through as it is.
I don’t have much confidence in my willpower at the moment though 😅

I've just come on here to tell @IlovePond Aldi was stocked up but I can see operation trip to Aldi has been completed!
In the store I went to they had them displayed like this:
Makeup and Elemis dupes and small perfume on the shelves where they keep normal moisturisers
Dupes for VB fragrances, La Mer serum and La Prairie creams and serum at the front of the shop near the tills.

I got the gold serum (3!), a lip oil because I've seen it mentioned on here, an 'elemis' mask in a tube and no. 39 perfume on recommendation from here (I'll try it when I get home and away from these wet stinky dogs in my car).

They only brought out the Serum from La Mer here as well. Nothing else tgat I spotted from this range.

@Branster @IlovePond I'm fighting the FOMO right now to nip down. I've run out of bin bags and I'm nearly out of milk so I may have gone anyway but I really don't need any of these dupes but I know I'll buy them once there.

I should probably go to the Co-op. 😂

@Branster snd @OvaHere - I have just made a very short trip to the gym, (I can’t do much for various reasons), and have persuaded DH of the need to go to big Tesco miles away, (which might just happen to be relatively close to another Aldi 😹).

I've been to Aldi.
I bought a couple of the chestnut kajal eyeliners a VB perfume dupe, the La Soie serum, a lip oil, a face oil, the caviar face cream and the caviar serum.
The LED masks, La Soie moisuriser and La Soie eye cream had not arrived in store.

I don't know if I like the perfume - does anyone know if you can sell online if the seal is broken?

@IDontKnowWhatYouMean - you can’t sell used makeup on eBay but I think you can with perfume on f you declare it. It’s somewhere in the t&c.

Which perfume did you get?

Harrods sale preview is up. Some stuff is quite reduced.

I got the blue one - the Portofino dupe - Classic Italia.
I was in Selfridges last week and tried them all - I liked the Portofino one the best, but to be honest they are all a bit heavy for me, I only really like very light fragrances. I probably only bought the dupe because I was caught up in the bargain aspect of it!
I might just keep it, or I might sell it on if it's allowed. There are some on Vinted for £25, so I could probably get my money back (they are £9.99 in Aldi) - even though the seal is broken, the packaging is otherwise intact.

Absolutely nothing in the second Aldi - I had forgotten it’s a really small one. Have bought some tinned tomatoes as consolation 😹

For the Hourglass palette, they had 20% off and I had £20 credit on my account. Then for the rest I used my cashback pot on TopCashback - though as my son pointed out, that’s not technically free because I could have used that cashback for something else 😅

Hi, I am back - I can’t believe I have been out since 9.30am doing a tour of Aldi via the gym and Tesco! I might as well have called it a day at 10.30 when I made my only beauty purchases at my first stop!

Here’s a pic of what I bought. I couldn’t decide between black or brown kajal stick so got both. I am going to put the perfume away as a gift as it’s designed to hang on a tree - very pretty. (I wish I had bought more of the lip oil.)

In my - not very - local, in addition to the above, they had:

Dupe WOW spray
Sleep oil - this is lovely, but I already have some
Setting spray
Primer
Soie serum (the La Mer dupe - I left it as it has Macadamia nuts in it)
The LED attachments
The dupe Elemis cleanser - not sure why I left this behind!
Fake eyelashes
Eyelash serum
The NUXE dupe Shimmer Oil and the Wonder Oil
The hand/body wash JM dupes, but not the perfume

On a non-beauty note: I wanted a dupe WoodWick candle, but there was just an empty box😿

The other store I went to had clearly had either nothing at all, or one tray of a couple of things in the ordinary skincare section which was long gone by noon. (It was just food in the SB aisle 😿😿)

The second Aldi I went to - the very small one with nothing in it - doesn’t like to let you out if you haven’t bought anything, (basically security think you’ve stuffed things up your jumper), so to avoid any possible embarrassment I just grabbed some tomatoes and queued up like an idiot 😹

@IlovePond my local one now has self-service checkouts so much quicker for the single tin of tomato purchases.

@OchonAgusOchonOh -Normally I love the self checkout but little Aldi was rammed - the queue was almost to the back of the shop 🙀🙀🙀

Fortunately, just as I was standing there - no doubt looking very suspicious with my sad tin- another checkout opened and I only had to queue for a bit. No nice beauty products by the till either 😿

My DH bought me the Charlotte Tilbury advent for my birthday, and I may have also bought the liberty jewellery advent, but only paid half price which seems fair for the contents, I'm not sure how they work the value out as £1200+ though, I'm not finding anything accounting for such high value estimate.

@IlovePond I’m heading to Thirsk Aldi early tomorrow!

Ooh, I am jealous @Doubleraspberry - I like Thirsk and I hit the jackpot in that Aldi with the SR and DE dupes! I used the oil today - it’s so lovely!

@IlovePond and it's only going to get worse between now and Christmas. You should have bought the sprouts too. You'd want to be getting them on soon if they're going to be properly cooked for the Christmas dinner.
