What boots for Europe

Hi all, I will be travelling in Europe for about 10 days in December and won't be able to pack much so was thinking since it will be very cold or just wearing one pair of boots the whole time. I want something practical and comfortable that is ideally at least a little stylish too but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations? Perhaps walking boots but I don't want something heavy. Many thanks

It depends if you are going somewhere likely to have ice and snow. If this is the case, something like Sorel that are furlined will keep your feet warmer and waterproof will be essential. Sorel aren't stylish though. if it was me, I'd bring practical shoes e.g. Sorel for walking around and another pair for when you want to dress up a bit.

I live in germany - not far from the Dutch border - whatever boots you'd wear in the Uk are fine for here, if you're heading further south you might (only might) need something warmer - but generally your regular autumn/winter boots will be fine

It really depends what sort of "walking" OP will be doing. My winter boots will be fine for any city in Northern or Central Europe. I wouldn't venture into the countryside anywhere in most of my boots unless it was a clearly defined "country park walk" situation for townies. Equally, they'll be too heavy for cities like Lisbon or Barcelona
