TillyScoutsmum · 25/04/2008 11:44

ooh Lucia - Its my dd's 1st birthday party next week and I only have £1,000 to spend on an outfit. I've looked everywhere (except the High Street ) and can't find anything

Please help me

marypullen · 25/04/2008 11:45

TillyScoutsmum · 25/04/2008 11:46

LG&T - you wore a Next top ?? It's a wonder anyone still speaks to you

onebatmother · 25/04/2008 11:47

Since the Sixties, darling? Yes, mummy has one of those too!

slayerette · 25/04/2008 11:47

Oh no! I wore a t-shirt and jeans to ds's 5th party! Why, oh why did I not consult Lucia first? What on earth did all the other mothers there think of me? What was I thinking, putting my son's enjoyment of the day before my own. How stupidly lacking in insane vanity and self-obsession. I can never go out again...

luciavanderposeur · 25/04/2008 11:48

well, tilly. i do offer a service where i come round to your house and criticise your wardrobe (£500 ph) and then take you shopping in harvey nicks (£750 ph) to buy you some naice clothes.... what d'ya say?

TillyScoutsmum · 25/04/2008 11:51

Sounds like a bargain to me... If you can find my wardrobe in the shit hole that constitutes my bedroom - you're welcome to come and criticise it

FYIAD · 25/04/2008 12:07

The Alberta Ferretti ravishingly pretty ?tea? dress in a crinkled aquamarine chiffon for £310 sounds a snip. I might purchase a second one, in lemon. It'll can be my gardening dress - one in the eye for the 33 year old next door (with the very sad looking peonies and unkempt lawn edges and gosh, those short-shorts she wears).

I think Ask Lucia is like Mrs Mills and Psychic Psmith. It's a laugh, surely.

I dressed as a pirate for DS1's 5th birthday. But hey I was young.
