Are you still in your summer clothes?

I am but I’m feeling the cold today! It’s lovely and sunny here but I went out in white trainers and no socks this morning and my ankles were freezing. I need to get my jumpers and boots out and pack the t-shirts etc away. I don’t like this time of year!

It's more that I've been in my autumn clothes most of the summer!

ouch321 · 03/10/2024 16:26

14 degrees isn't t shirt weather to me. I have a jumper on over a vest top.

henlake7 · 03/10/2024 17:17

well, Im wearing a vest and t shirt under my jumper so technically Im still in my summer clothes (and will be all winter!).
But Im wearing opaque tights now with dresses/skirts and thicker leggings when I walk the dogs.

GettingStuffed · 03/10/2024 17:21

I'm wearing in-between season clothes. A long sleeve t-shirt and a knitted tube skirt.

socks1107 · 03/10/2024 17:25

No. Got back from a sunnier place on the weekend and have washed and folded everything away!

PickAChew · 03/10/2024 17:26

Don't be daft. We've already had frosty mornings.

Spongebobcircletop · 03/10/2024 17:30

At home I am wearing cropped trousers, t shirts, shorts to bed.... if I have to leave the house I am in jumpers coats and boots already.

EerilyDecorated · 03/10/2024 17:33

In between, summer dresses are over but I'm still wearing sandals, tee shirts, cardis are on and off, coats only if it's raining or in the evening. Haven't got out thick coats and boots from storage yet.

chickenlettuceunderbacon · 03/10/2024 17:34

No, it's October.

Moonshine5 · 03/10/2024 17:34

Never got them out 😂

triggers34 · 03/10/2024 17:45

I did go out in a summer dress on Tuesday but styled it with a heavy duty Arran cardi and Nordic socks! Got a few compliments too!

JadedFilly · 03/10/2024 17:45

Away from home and brought just one rather lovely Shetland wool jumper with me.

Have been wearing it all week. Over thermal and t shirt layers, with thin wool trousers, chunky ankle boots and The Big Puffy Jacket. Only my emergency beanie would be a step too far.

AvoidingStalkers · 03/10/2024 18:25

Not since the middle/end of August, to be honest I have worn jumpers and vests throughout most of 'summer'. It's been horrendous in the NW!

Saucisses · 03/10/2024 18:48

Nope. They have all gone away for next year. I'm off to my choir rehearsal in cropped cords and a merino sweater and Chelsea boots tonight. Proper Autumn wear. Still only wearing a lightweight jacket though. At least for this week.

I prefer autumn clothes and get them out at the earliest opportunity.

Kierparma · 03/10/2024 18:49

Of course not. I barely wore them this 'summer'

Holidayhell22 · 03/10/2024 18:54

No. I got my winter clothes out of the loft and have put most of my summer clothes away. I have a few dresses and sandals out in case.
I’ve now resorted to wearing tights. Plus jumpers.
If we get a late heat wave then I’ve enough dresses out to cover it.
Ive also been wearing gloves the last 2 days.

BitOutOfPractice · 03/10/2024 18:57

I am because I haven’t had chance to get winter clothes out of storage. Was planning to do it last weekend but family bereavement. I am away this weekend too so it’ll be another week before I can. I am seriously layering though.

HillsNValleys · 03/10/2024 19:02

No. I barely wore my summer clothes this year. It was a crap summer.

But I was in my lighter autumn clothes for work - trousers, blazer, sleeveless blouse, loafers or pointy flats, I was trying to hold out until later in October, but I cracked on Monday when it was cold and pissing down and dark in the morning. Black tights, boots and long sleeved dress came out.

Only a trench coat or light wool coat so far though. Wonder how long it’ll be until The big duvet coat of shame comes out 😆

QuestionableMouse · 03/10/2024 19:04

I don't have different clothes for different seasons!

MorrisZapp · 03/10/2024 19:06

I'm still in sandals, in Edinburgh! My feet are the very last bit to succumb to autumn dressing. Socks and trainers make me feel like I'm suffocating.

HillsNValleys · 03/10/2024 19:06

QuestionableMouse · 03/10/2024 19:04

I don't have different clothes for different seasons!

So you wear the same clothes if it’s 80 and sunny to when it’s below freezing or pissing with rain? No you don’t! 😆

Meadowfinch · 03/10/2024 19:07

Still tshirts and deck shoes but I've swapped shorts for jeans.

tarheelbaby · 03/10/2024 19:10

It's been chilly here and I've moved into my warmer clothes. I've gone from short-sleeved cotton/linen dresses and cotton 3/4 sleeved cardigans with linen and silk scarves plus a tin-cloth rain coat to long-sleeved wool dresses, wool cardigans & scarves and my 'duvet' coat. I don't regret it.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 03/10/2024 19:11

In between clothes and the odd jumper when it’s colder.

I’ve ordered some luxury 60 denier tights from Tu Sainsburys so that’s a sign autumn is coming.

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 03/10/2024 19:15

Well I've lost a few stone on mounjaro scince summer.
So I've sold loads on vinted and bought trousers and autumn tops on there. Just a few to tide me over for now.
Luckily my winter coats have tie waists I'm hoping to pull in.
If they seem too big .. I'll sell and buy
