Are you still in your summer clothes?

I am but I’m feeling the cold today! It’s lovely and sunny here but I went out in white trainers and no socks this morning and my ankles were freezing. I need to get my jumpers and boots out and pack the t-shirts etc away. I don’t like this time of year!

I don't have different clothes for different seasons!

Think you’re going to have to explain, in detail …

Do you just have lots of cotton jersey or synthetic gym wear type stuff and add or subtract layers according to the temperature? Or …?

Ohreally01 · 03/10/2024 19:29

I’m wearing a long-sleeved jersey top and a hoody over the top plus trousers and socks now. I’ve packed the sandals away and I will
sort out the wardrobe on the weekend. This is always the stage when I wonder what I was wearing last year because I seem to have hardly any clothes!

I’m very much inbetween. I lived in strappy midi dresses over summer, jeans and a vest top on the cooler days. I’d be too cold now to go out in that!

However I’m not ready yet for chunky knits, tights and boots. I love autumn so it’s not a mindset thing, I just genuinely haven’t been cold enough yet.

So I’m sort of longer sleeved midis and pumps, jeans and a thin jumper sort of clothes at the moment.

Pavolvaa · 03/10/2024 20:43

All summer clothes packed away second week of sept! I’ve got the full winter wardrobe out but haven’t had to wear it many days yet. I am in tracksuits with a gillet or long dress / tights boots / jeans thin jumper / trench

Itabsolutelyispossible · 03/10/2024 20:44

No. I have already had to scrape ice from my car within the past month!

Ginmonkeyagain · 03/10/2024 20:49

I'd still be in sandals if it wasn't so pissing wet.

It's not that cold yet, today I wore cord trousers, trainers and a short sleeved knitted linen/cotton mix top

Precipice · 03/10/2024 20:54

I wear t-shirts all year except for the summer!

BeretRaspberry · 03/10/2024 20:56

I am! I’m in flip flops and vest tops! But I habe heat regulation issues and am perimenopausal!😂

Cantonet · 03/10/2024 20:57

I'm back in my Cashmere & Cords as it was 3 ° here last night. I'm still in a lightweight jacket apart from in the dog walk, though I resorted to a boiled wool one the other day.

Faldodiddledee · 03/10/2024 20:58

No, I moved to autumn fabric jackets about a week ago, and even wore tights on a cold rainy day, although it would have been too hot for that today. Got the boots out, the socks, I wear loafers all summer anyway so still put them on if it's a bit warmer. Summer dresses don't feel right to me at this time of year.

AllAboutNiamh · 03/10/2024 20:58

No! I’m thrilled to be in lovely boots and jumpers. I like winter clothes so much better.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/10/2024 21:24

We’ve had frost in the mornings this week. Summer clothes are vacuum packed away, knitwear is out, but I am still in my leather jackets.

Or she lives somewhere temperate where it never really gets warm in the summer or really cold in the winter. I grew up in the north of Scotland and never really had summer clothes until I moved south, it was never warm enough. I don't take any summer dresses when I go home in the summer, it's all raincoats, jeans and jumpers. But it rarely is frozen in the winter, just dark, wet and windy. So you're still wearing raincoats, jeans and jumpers, just thicker ones. So there's no great changeover of seasonal clothes.

JaceLancs · 03/10/2024 21:55

Just put away all my summer dresses but am managing in lightweight jumpers, blouses with cardigans and some jersey dresses with or without cardigans depending on day and whether or not they have a short or long sleeve
I really need to bite the bullet and find all my packed away boots, sweater dresses and thicker jumpers

QuestionableMouse · 04/10/2024 03:07

I just don't own many clothes - maybe ten long sleeve tops, three pairs of trousers, a couple of pairs of jeans and four dresses of various sleeves and lengths, a few camisoles.

I tend to run hot anyway so just add a hoodie or coat over whatever I'm wearing if it's cold!

wavingfuriously · 04/10/2024 03:16

48° here this evening bit chilly! down jacket on now

RaiseYourSkinnyFists · 04/10/2024 03:19

I'll stay in shorts all through the winter. I've been out tonight in them.

Add tights, leather jacket, and boots and I'm toasty. I've been doing it so many years now, I think I've Wim Hoffed my legs. I can't feel the cold in them anymore.

Topseyt123 · 04/10/2024 03:34

I'm in jeans and t-shirts with a good cardigan or jumper over the top, and I do wear socks.

I don't put my summer clothes (t-shirts) away as such. They just become a layer under my cardigans or jumpers.

ChewbaccasMrs · 04/10/2024 03:44

No,I'm going through my wardrobe tomorrow and packing up my summer clothes sticking those in the attic and bringing down my warmer things.

I've now also found some lovely new clothes I'm going to treat myself too. I'm looking forward to the change.

Anedina · 04/10/2024 05:14

No, I'm in the middle of sorting out all my summer clothes and packing them away, I have tall Pax wardrobes and the out of season stuff is packed in storage boxes in the top section of the wardrobe

fossilgap · 04/10/2024 05:34

Nope half term is the rule

summer clothes on may half term

RampantIvy · 04/10/2024 05:39

QuestionableMouse · 03/10/2024 19:04

I don't have different clothes for different seasons!

Why not?

I have shorts, sleeveless tops, summer trousers, summer skirts, sandals and summer dresses for warm weather.

I wear jeans and jumpers in winter as well as socks and boots.

I would find summer clothes too cold in winter and jeans too hot in summer.

I did go out in a summer dress on Tuesday but styled it with a heavy duty Arran cardi and Nordic socks! Got a few compliments too!

That sounds very stylish! I love autumn and spring for that… mixing up combinations.

weareallcats · 04/10/2024 08:58

Haven’t worn a coat yet, but am definitely in jumpers and boots! I am the opposite to you though - love autumn and warmer clothes, so always start wearing them as soon as I can get away with it.

Octavia64 · 04/10/2024 09:00

Frost overnight where I am. My long summer dresses have definitely gone away!
