winter everyday chelsea boots (not Blundstones!)

I need a pair of boots for everyday wear. I live semi-rurally, so something that's ok walking along a muddy path but also ok to walk the 30-mins into and around town. I got a pair of Blundstones last year, which I love the look of, but they kill my feet and I just find them so uncomfortable. Any recommendations of other similar-look boots I could try? I'd prefer a chelsea type boot so I can just pull them on and off quickly...

Big Timberland fan here. I've got a zip up version of their chunkier Chelsea boot which they don't seem to make any more - but these are pretty close https://www.timberland.co.uk/en-gb/p/women-10086/field-mid-chelsea-boot-for-women-in-black-TB0A5ZCG001 The ones I have are comfortable and fairly indestructible.

I have the Barbour Nina Chelsea boots, fantastic for walking the dogs and I also wear them with thick tights and dresses. In fact I bought a second pair when they were in the sales, but my first pair are still in perfect condition after 3 years!

I also have the Ariat Wexford, they're good too.

ttcat37 · 24/09/2024 22:09

Did you try the comfort soles in your Blundstones?

honestasever · 25/09/2024 04:01

I’m absolutely amazed by those saying Blundestones killed their feet. I have 2 pairs and live in mine.

Same with Birkenstocks.
Just shows how we’re all different.

I don't actually own these as pull on boots don't fit my feet well but came very close to ordering as they are well reviewed

I love these, Shame they've sold out in my size 😭

KirstenBlest · 25/09/2024 08:35

@Duckies , they look great.

Try the Hotter Waterproof Chelsea Boots - I've had several pairs of their boots over the years and they have all been really comfortable as well as being really practical.

I usually get the ones that are goretex lined that have zips rather than the elastic that they have on the Chelsea boots and love them partly because they are som comfortable but also because they look like 'normal' everyday boots rather than looking like hiking boots or DM etc

I've got 2 pairs of the DM for lined Chelsea boots. They're wonderful.

Same here. They are very comfy!

Cheesemas · 25/09/2024 14:17

Have you considered a neoprene lined welly ankle boot like Merry People? Warm, comfortable, pull on and perfect for dog walking.

I came on to say I have Chelsea boots by Fly that are brilliant….couldn’t remember the name though…well done @poppyzbrite4 for finding that link! I’ve had them for years and they still look great. Super comfortable for walking too.

I have these too...I use them twice a day to walk my very energetic dog on road, across a beach and a bit of rough terrain. I've had them for over a year and due to the stinking 'summer' weather haven't really taken them off. So for value =great. Have had several people pass comment on them and say how much they liked the look of them. Obv I love them too. Recommend.

GravitasShortfall · 25/09/2024 16:31

Dr Martens Chelsea boots. 4 years old, still look like new, splash through muddy puddles all the time and clean up in an instant. Mine are patent so I wear them around town with jeans too, versatile.

MountainsAndSheep · 25/09/2024 20:37

If you want something fully waterproof (I live in rural northwest and it rains a lot!!) I think Merry People boots are nice. Huge colour range, and a few different designs. They look like a Chelsea but they are actually wellies:

Redbacks - I've got a pair for doing the horse and another pair for 'best'. Instantly comfortable, which is unusual for me.

KirstenBlest · 25/09/2024 23:36

@wibdib , thanks for the Hotter link. The boots look pretty good. Good time to grab some sale sandals.

Red back bobcat boots. I did tonnes of research when I wanted blundstones. Blundstones are made in china now and not good quality, they used to be made in Australia and imported. Red back boots are made in Australia and are great quality. I've had mine a year and wear them tonnes. They also have a lovely cushioned bottom. I wear with everything from jeans to dresses.

I wholeheartedly second this! I wear Redback boots every day.
I've got a couple of pairs. They are so unbelievably comfortable (I reckon I could actually sleep in them) and easy to get on and off. I've never had wet feet wearing them and I live in a muddy bog😁
Decent price tag and last for absolutely years!
They blow Blundstones out the water for comfort and durability.
Can't recommend them enough (to anyone who'll listen!) 😀

I also love MOSHULU. Also I like supporting a British Family company with a product that is not made abroad. Love their footwear

bravotango · 26/09/2024 08:37

Ha - wish I'd found this thread last week! Saying that, I've just bought a pair of Hoggs of Fife chelsea boots and they feel extremely sturdy and well made and very comfortable. Only time will tell but they had a much nicer price tag than the Blundstones I had my eye on!

Oh I love these ! Quite tempted by the red ones!

popularinthe80s · 26/09/2024 08:51

@Fancycardi1990 I sat here wearing the black John Lewis ones (with a dress - they work with everything). Got the brown ones last year. Super comfy, fully waterproof and the right amount of clump. Which is difficult to attain.

Fairfax & Favor Boudica sound ideal, they do normal and sheepskin lined versions, leather or suede!

www.fairfaxandfavor.com/products/the-boudica-ii-oak

At that price they'd have to make me fly!

KirstenBlest · 26/09/2024 16:38

Do they look that different to Ladies Jodhpur Dealer Boot by Hoggs of Fife | Hoggs of Fife ?

DoNOTShakeItOff · 28/09/2024 18:49

Barbour Hamsterly are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn! Fabulous quality too.

Hyperfix8d · 28/09/2024 19:03

I have a pair of Ariat Wexford H2O and they are brilliant, comfy and waterproof!
