winter everyday chelsea boots (not Blundstones!)

I need a pair of boots for everyday wear. I live semi-rurally, so something that's ok walking along a muddy path but also ok to walk the 30-mins into and around town. I got a pair of Blundstones last year, which I love the look of, but they kill my feet and I just find them so uncomfortable. Any recommendations of other similar-look boots I could try? I'd prefer a chelsea type boot so I can just pull them on and off quickly...

Can recommend the Birkenstock Highwood boot. Unbelievably comfortable once broken in. You can get a discount for email sign up. These boots will last years.

4th vote for the Fly London boots!

I have Blundestones and they KILLED my feet and shredded my ankles but bought these silicone things off Amazon and fixed the problem immediately- allowed me to wear them in with no pain and don’t even need to wear them anymore www.amazon.co.uk/Silicone-Heel-Protectors-Prevention-Comfortable/dp/B0BZYNN2XS/ref=asc_df_B0BZYNN2XS/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=697357044134&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11096702174285099144&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006567&hvtargid=pla-2197223493995&psc=1&mcid=ac551c35035a34019c65d2cdeadc4658&gad_source=1

Fairfax & Favor Boudica sound ideal, they do normal and sheepskin lined versions, leather or suede!

My DM chelsea boots are five years old and still going strong, and I wear them pretty much every day November - March. I don’t know if it’s the fur lining but they didn’t need any breaking in, super comfortable from day 1.

I've got two pairs of DM Chelsea boots and they are brilliant. Really comfy, no breaking in and they look good with most stuff.

Barney16 · 08/09/2024 08:50

Dr Martens. I have fur lined Chelsea boots and they are brilliant. Wouldn't buy any other boots ever again.

luckylavender · 08/09/2024 08:54

I have 3 pairs of Fly London Chelsea boots, one of which I've had for over 20 years. They're great.

katmunchkin · 08/09/2024 08:59

Fairfax and Favor Boudica- I live in mine all year round!

Justonedayatatime11 · 08/09/2024 09:01

Another vote for Fairfax and Favor Boudicas. Bought mine when they came out 2 or 3 years ago, my most frequently worn boots and they still clean up perfectly and are so comfy

alwaysnapping · 08/09/2024 12:03

Dubarry Waterford boots.

Solovair are comfortable and good quality. I don't have the chelsea boots but have the derby boots and love them.

I have the dealer boots and love them.

I have some Fly boots and they are comfortable. I hardly wear them because they aren't my style, but they aren't chelsea boots.

Another vote for Solovair. They’re similar to DMs but much better quality and comfortable from the word go. Mine will see me out.

Fishcake18 · 24/09/2024 08:19

I've got a pair of Clarks boots that I've just had resoled (after three years solid wear)!! They last forever, and v good quality. Nothing in There I liked rn so this seemed much more sensible.

QueenOfToast · 24/09/2024 09:06

I've got some Fairfax and Favour Boudicas which are very good for muddy walks, but they're a bit too flat for me and aggravate my Achilles tendinitis if I wear them for too long.

I also have these boots from Fitflop which are much more comfortable for longer walks www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/f-mode-leather-flatform-chelsea-boots-p-FH4#090

Red back bobcat boots. I did tonnes of research when I wanted blundstones. Blundstones are made in china now and not good quality, they used to be made in Australia and imported. Red back boots are made in Australia and are great quality. I've had mine a year and wear them tonnes. They also have a lovely cushioned bottom. I wear with everything from jeans to dresses.

These are mine. They are expensive but I have had mine for three years now and they are still fab!

Ooooh I like those and they have navy! I don't like brown or black and struggle to find boots I like. Think I'll give those a go. How did you find the sizing @wonderingwhatlifemeans ?

KirstenBlest · 24/09/2024 10:00

I like these Burlington Bull Hide Short Boots - Bareback Footwear

EllaPaella · 24/09/2024 12:05

I have these https://www.birkenstock.com/gb/highwood-slip-on-women-suede-leather/highwood-gripwalk-suedeleather-0-rubber-w650.htmll_ and highly recommend them. Very comfy.

Notellinganyone · 24/09/2024 12:14

My John Lewis Anyday Chelsea boots were cheap and are currently in their third year. V comfortable and excellent value.

Another vote for these. I have a black pair and a brown pair. One pair has been going since 2020. They were so comfy to wear right from day one. All through autumn and winter, in all weathers, I wear them to death!

LesLavandes · 24/09/2024 16:07

Would they suit a wide foot and is the leather soft?

wonderingwhatlifemeans · 24/09/2024 16:39

@WeRateSquirrels they are roomy but not too loose. I have dyspraxia so loose shoes or long are a problem and these fit fine. Let me just check which size I bought. Mine are a 39 so a six and a half and they fit really well.

I have just treated them with leather wax and they look like new.
