I have some keen walking sandals that are amazing buy do look like walking sandals
I've been on the look out for comfort but nicer looking. I do struggle with footwear. I had doc sandals but they are not supportive enough now

I always recommend Fitflop Gracie. I have awful feet but I can walk miles in mine .

Username917778 · 18/07/2024 17:05

Birkenstock mayari have done me well.

StoneTheCrone · 18/07/2024 17:05

savvy7 · 18/07/2024 17:20

Butting in, but which Gracie do you have? One with a back strap?

Billyandharry · 18/07/2024 17:42

Heavenly feet are brilliant! V comfy.

Agree, fitflops are so comfy, can walk miles- I to have rubbish feet. They are also on their 3rd year and worn lots so get your moneys worth out of them.

I haven't fared well with fit flops so far. I had some nice orange, leather toe post flip flops but my feet pronated on them

I take it back. I've just looked at the shape of the footbed on the gracie and I can see them working well
I will look at heavenly feet too

I've just bought two pairs of the Gracie and they are so comfy!!

JamMonster · 18/07/2024 19:24

Great idea for a thread! Tevas have decent arch support and they have some leather ones!

Also, these were comfy but I returned because they were expensive and I wasn’t sure how much I’d wear the style: www.schuh.co.uk/womens/arizona-love-trekky-pearl-black-sandals/1799827070/?affiliate_source=AW&campid=1127&adid=0&lpcat=network&channel=affiliate&utm_source=AW-shoppingdirectory&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=connexity&awc=2044_1721326936_92adac27d61095f32c8e0685333e6e3e

I've just ordered some trespass ones from m and m sports. They do still look a bit walking sandaly but im hoping they'll be comfy and not too ugly in person

After painful plantar fascia my go to sandals are Strive .

AngryLikeHades · 18/07/2024 20:14

Geox are good but expensive.
I've got a silver pair, but I don't know the specific style name. They have a very good, ergonomic sole and foot bed that is good for my knees and stability.

Overtheatlantic · 18/07/2024 20:16

Gabor Lanzarotes are very comfortable. I have three pairs.

happyharpy78 · 18/07/2024 20:16

@Trickedbyadoughnut yes, the back strap ones like these

The timberland ones are nice. I've tried a pair of timberland before though and they were too narrow
Are they typically on the narrow side?

OP posts:
ExpatForLife · 18/07/2024 22:54

The Timberland don't seem too narrow but I do have narrow feet so... prob best to try them on.

These are bliss. Skechers go walk massage fit - and crucially can be tightened around the back of the heel, over the foot and over the toes - this is essential for getting well fit sandals which don't rub in my (long and bitter) experience

Teva slim so comfy, good support and wearing well. Walked for miles and miles in them.

RivkaTheBold · 19/07/2024 07:07

Archie's flip flops are so good for walking in.

Nonbio46 · 19/07/2024 09:43

I love my Saltwater sandals ( the ones with the thicker sole). Really comfortable and I get lots of compliments. x

dragonfliesandbees · 19/07/2024 11:33

Second the recommendation for Saltwater. I have the normal ones but have heard the thicker soles are even more comfy. You wet them the first time you wear them then wear until dry and they fit perfectly. They also last forever! Only thing is they are very flat which some people don’t like. I also have Teva original universal when I want something with a bit more grip. I can wear either all day with no issues.

I’ve had Birkenstock Mayari in the past which I liked but they made a fart noise when I walked so I ended up selling them!!
