I've been on the look out for comfort but nicer looking. I do struggle with footwear. I had doc sandals but they are not supportive enough now

Teva.

if you care about appearance get leather ones!

i swear by Terra Fi Lite for urban use.

I love my skechers, especially the arch fit ones. I only wear skechers, either sandals, flipflops or sneakers as this is the only brand working for my very difficult feet. For reference, I have chronic inflammation in some muscles in my feet, shortened muscles in my achilles heel since being a child, severe plantar fasciites as well on top of that and I would not be able to walk without them otherwise due to pain. I have had injections and all due to lack of being able to walk without pain but since using Skechers since a few years, I can walk for miles on any of these.

Gabor Lanzarotes are very comfortable. I have three pairs.

I have a pair. They are so comfortable.

I got these plain cream Tevas after seeing them on here

https://www.marksandspencer.com/madera-leather-flat-slingback-sandals/p/clp22589015?intid=mobileappppdpshare

They were brilliant on holiday, the sole is super cushioned and they didn't look tooo like walking sandals when at nice lunches.

I love these!

The Gabor sandals linked to be @bfsham are so comfortable. I have bunions so thought a wide fit and they’re perfect.

My go to otherwise for these purposes is wasabi sandals by moshulu.

I thought @bfsham posted a link to Dune sandals ?

Krupkrups · 20/07/2024 10:31

Have a look on FitFlop - a revelation to me!

Yes, sorry. I did mean Dune.

I hate the idea of Hotter shoes but I have two pairs. Metalic Tourist 2 are great for anything a bit dressy where you have to walk or stand a lot - think literary festival. The walking sandals also come in a few colours and are amazingly comfortable for long walks in parks, shopping etc. I still don’t like the brand but needs must.

BrummiMummi · 20/07/2024 13:41

These!! Linzi via Next - can walk all day in them and have in natural as well!

Nice sandals that I can walk all day in

Honestly I have been researching this for years. YEARS.

I have found lots of decent enough pairs (mostly already mentioned on this thread). But all of them either rub if you walk too far, or make you walk like a duck, or look frumpy, or one of them makes a farting noise with each step. I am losing hope that my dream of perfect sandals will ever come true Sad.

This!!! there’s a killing to be made for entrepreneurial types to make non-fugly fashionable shoes for over pronation - of all the above Fitflop prob the best but Fitflop with a nice moulded leather footbed and some better support for narrow foot over pronators would be ideal - Currently packing 9 sandals at mo for holiday as none of them are reliable enough to prevent sore feet with high step counts - had a dicey moment last year with Tevas when both feet seized up mid long walk

Saltwater with the thicker soles, I found out about them on mumsnet and I’m so pleased with them and have had compliments from people too! I have wide feet and bunions.

lljkk · 20/07/2024 15:06

Do you mean walking mostly on paved surfaces, slowly, no more than 2.5 miles covered in one day, OP?

WombatChocolate · 20/07/2024 16:43

Saltwater with thicker sole - called Boardwalk or Swimmer. Very comfy for long walks. Lots of lovely colours. You can usually find a sale somewhere online.

Anewuser · 20/07/2024 17:42

After reading a similar thread, I bought Moshulu and have to say they’ve been fantastic. I don’t know whether they’re considered ugly?

I used to wear fitflops every day but my Fitflop sandals make me walk funny.

I suffer with plantar fasciitis but wear my moshulus daily now doing an average 15,000 steps.

I love my free spirit ones. Formerly Earth Spirit

FiveTreeHill · 20/07/2024 18:39

Teva. My personal opinion with comfy sandals is if you go for something hidden comfy it looks a bit frumpy/bloffy whilst go for something like a teva it's a fashion decision

I also have a pair of timberland chunky sandals that are so comfy, I could walk for miles on a pavement but if its more paths/off road I need my Tevas

Clementine1513 · 20/07/2024 19:36

Keen Uneek

LifeZ · 21/07/2024 00:58

I have geox sandals. Mine aren't typical walking sandals, more pair of leather low heeled sandals but goodness I walk for miles in them ( well ten a day) in the heat which may not be what you have in mind. They are extremely comfy and breathable and can be worn more smartly.. they do more typical walking sandals too . Good quality shoes. Husband gets Normal walking sandals there.

Soakinguptherays · 21/07/2024 01:11

I’ve walked 25000 steps in London today in my Merrell lattice Terran . They are extremely comfortable. Mine are the first model as I’ve had them quite a while- They are not chunky and don’t scream ‘walking sandal,

Easipeelerie · 21/07/2024 07:48

These don’t look like walking sandals but I didn’t need to wear them in and walked around in them all day every day for a 10 day holiday with no rubbing. Soles are leather so you don’t feel like your swimming in sweat.

Birkenstock Milano have been amazing this year- I usually wear Birkenstock flip flops but needed something with a back strap (silly work policy!) and these have been great.

Giannetta · 21/07/2024 14:46

Trespass Kimbra.

Very minimal, suede strapped. Is a walking sandal made by a walking sandal manufacturer, but looks more like a normal sandal than most. Look at the customers' pics on Amazon to get a better idea of what they look like IRL.
