If you have long hair...

How do you wear it at bedtime?

My hair has finally reached the length where I can tie it back. However I need to come up with a solution for how to wear it at bedtime.
I have tried wearing it loose but I have woken up feeling strangled by my own hair. I also have the joy that is night sweats (thanks menopause!) and have woken up a sodden mess of knotted locks.

My hair is very long, I have to have 2 plaits.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/06/2024 17:19

Loose bun in this weather.

JackieGoodman · 25/06/2024 17:20

When my hair was long I always wore it in a loose bun overnight, had nice waves in the morning too if didn't need washing.

Fudgetheparrot · 25/06/2024 17:34

Bun

dudsville · 25/06/2024 17:36

loose top knot

justasking111 · 25/06/2024 17:38

Low ponytail tail here because I sleep on my side.

NippyCrab · 25/06/2024 17:43

Pineapple pony and twirl it round and either pin it or tuck under your hair tie, you will have nice waves in the morning.

LoobyDoop2 · 25/06/2024 17:45

Low plait pulled to the side. I only bother if it’s warm, though, the rest of the time I just leave it loose.

TitInATrance · 25/06/2024 17:46

Low ponytail so I can sleep on my back with the band in the curve of my neck.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/06/2024 17:51

I've had long hair all my life (albeit a bit shorter now) - it's never occurred to me to tie it back. I think I just put it behind my head and it more or less stays there.

spamandeggs · 25/06/2024 17:52

I have to plait mine . It's very long and thick and really bloody annoying tbh

FeckOffNowLads · 25/06/2024 17:55

A proper fat bun which means I wake daily with curly hair, win win

Roseyjane · 25/06/2024 18:00

Side plait. I also use the heatless curler head band sometimes, so sleep with that in and wake up to smooth shiny waves.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 25/06/2024 22:21

I did 2 plaits or a top knot with my bra clasp length hair...had it cut to just below chin length at the weekend so don't have to bother tying it up at night now 😊

goingdownfighting · 25/06/2024 22:23

Bunches. Loose and low

JamSandle · 25/06/2024 22:30

I always wear mine up

masomenos · 25/06/2024 22:33

I flip mine up the pillow when I lie down. I only ever sleep on my back or sides, so it sort of stays up at the top of the pillow while I twirl around under it. Also menopausal and my god the hot flashes. But never on my head or neck at night (just every-bloody-where else 🙄).

maximist · 25/06/2024 22:37

High up pony tail here. It's usually falling out by morning but if I try to sleep with it loose I get far too hot.

Sorenlorrenson · 25/06/2024 22:41

Silk bonnet.

Growlybear83 · 25/06/2024 22:42

My hair is waist length and I wear it loose in bed. I occasionally tie it back if I'm decorating or gardening but otherwise I always have it loose.

bryceQ · 25/06/2024 22:43

High pony tail or bun. Never down I would be smothered

Edingril · 25/06/2024 22:44

Low pony tail

Lokshen · 25/06/2024 22:47

Loose, but I have to push it upwards, off my neck and onto the pillow

jackstini · 25/06/2024 22:49

Bathrobe belt with damp hair for perfect curls in the morning

If it straight already then just brush and flip up on pillow

ru53 · 25/06/2024 22:50

Treat yourself to a silk hair wrap - keeps your hair out of the way, stops it from tangling in the night and you don’t need to wash it as often!
