How do you wear it at bedtime?

My hair has finally reached the length where I can tie it back. However I need to come up with a solution for how to wear it at bedtime.
I have tried wearing it loose but I have woken up feeling strangled by my own hair. I also have the joy that is night sweats (thanks menopause!) and have woken up a sodden mess of knotted locks.

Bonnet.

Like other curlies a low, loose bun or side plaît but mine always needs a refresh in the morning. I use a satin pillowcase too. Dd(18) is curly and swears by a satin bonnet.

Loose high ponytail with a satin scrunchie. Keeps the curls nice.

Two plaits. My husband loves it and calls me his Squaw!

I have hair just below waist length and it's wavy. I'm another who swears by a silk, or satin, bonnet. Sometimes I plait my hair first, or a ponytail at least, secured with a silk scrunchie). Recent good buys have been cheap satin bonnets I've cut up and customised so that they're comfortable.

I can't sleep with my hair loose, it's too hot and I wake up looking like a scarecrow!

My daughter has very long hair to mid thigh, she just uses a satin scrunchie and low ponytail with a satin pillowcase. Her hair is quite straight though and more manageable than mine.

I know you and your DH are joking but that word should not be used.

People put up their hair to go to bed? Mind blown. I wear my mid back length hair loose.

Mine ends up in my mouth and down my throat so I'm gagging pulling it out which isn't pleasant.
