ta yes i didnt sweat last night so no great sheet change
have managed to hoover kitchen
am now whacked

Hassled · 17/04/2008 09:46

Not a pen but at the moment I am using this - Bobbi Brown and it is SO much better than Touche Eclat. The only thing wrong with it is that if you get even the tiniest bit into the corner of your eye it stings like hell, and you start weeping as though someone's squeezed onion juice in there.
It doesn't quite cover the full extent of the darkness but it may be that I'm a lost cause, and it certainly improves things loads.

anchovies · 17/04/2008 09:50

Another allergic to touche eclat and have the same smelly problem with number 7. Recently bought lancome and it's good but quite a bit heavier (more concealing less highlighting). Had estee lauder befre that and it was good, quite similar to boots/TE.

Shhhh · 17/04/2008 19:40

cod, did I read right................. From aldi.....aldi do a make up range ...??!

runnyhabbit · 17/04/2008 19:44

I've got the No7 one.

Had it for about 2 months and mine def does NOT smell.

Look rough as hell without, and often get my mum commenting "are you tired" if I haven't got it on

brimfull · 17/04/2008 19:53

I have tried YSL and no7 and Bobbie Brown ,none of them sned me into raptures tbh because they are too dry looking on y crepey under eye area.

May try this avon one that's meant to be creamy.
My eyes look shite atm becaus eof hayfever. All red ,weeping and itchy..lovely.

Lisa2912 · 17/04/2008 20:15

Have only really tried Touche Eclat all over my eye area (including in that nasty dark corner) before putting on rest of makeup and it seems to work well.... actually makes me look years younger (wishful thinking?) but did once have brush that went mouldy (don't use it very often, so had probably been smelly for a while and then just got worse....) and that was a nasty shock. Still bought another TE though, and nobody has ever told me to wash it. How are we expected to know these things?

FeverishFish · 17/04/2008 20:16

i have a box of ... no no
sorry its lidl
the cheap ones

FeverishFish · 17/04/2008 20:16

brimfull · 17/04/2008 20:25

FeverishFish · 17/04/2008 20:33

you cna haev the aldi one
i feel hopeless to be beryooty guru.

TheMadHouse · 17/04/2008 20:41

Touche eclat made my eyes really sore after a while so I moved to the Molton Brown one and it is great.

It comes in two colours and is £16 and doesnt smell like TE

You do have to be careful to not over applyu or you look like a badger

I also have a bare essentials one which I use if really bad

LittleMissTickles · 17/04/2008 22:41

Guerlain's Issima precious light is amazing - I have tried several under eye concealers, but this one is by far the best!

S1ur · 17/04/2008 23:03

Right signing in.

I have been trying out the Boots one, I have to admit its taken a wee bit of practise to get a good effect. The first time I used it I definitely had the scary white under eyes going on, a kind of look at me I am hiding something.

But, I worked it out, tis all about blending and good mosturising before hand. I've found the boots one was a bit cloggy and sort of obvious without adequate mositurising. But the brush is good for blending so long as it isn't overloaded.

I don't have huge dark circles anyway but nevertheless I was genuinely suprised that I could see a positive difference.

I think I am a convert. Especially after a late night up drinking

Oooh I was going to post a picture a kind of which eye looks best, shall I?? I might do one and see if anyone notices in rl will I look like this I wonder?

CeilingCat · 17/04/2008 23:20

I still don't know if this is a free-for-all, but am going to plough on regardless. Cod can ignore me (as usual ) if I'm an unwelcome gatecrasher.

I've been using Touche Eclat for a few years now and love it. I have slight shadows under the eyes, but no bags . I find it really easy to apply. It blends in easily and gives good coverage. It lasts well (no need to reapply later in the day) and doesn't go cakey.

I have on occasion dabbed it elsewhere (on my face ), as it suggests in the instructions. e.g. to highlight the bow of the upper lip, or to freshen the area from the nose to the corners of the mouth.

It really really is an essential part of my make-up kit.

PS - I've never had a stinky Touche Eclat, but my Mum did quite recently.

BBBee · 17/04/2008 23:38

TE good
No 7 nearly as good
tesco ok - but the dispensing method is a bit wanked.

all go smelly after a few months.

good for circles and sag lines but not for bags.

MrsJohnCusack · 18/04/2008 02:10

I'm allergic to Touch eclat as well

I use Benefit ooh la lift andeye bright to sort my eyes out - works brilliantly. not strictly an undereye concealer pen but fabby

they do an under eye pen but I haven't tried it yet - here

(am thinking Benefit should farking well PAY me for all teh recommendations I give)

FeverishFish · 18/04/2008 09:45

Can you do a link to the guerlain one, tickles?

LittleMissTickles · 20/04/2008 01:39

A link????? I'm always terribly impressed when I see those, but absolutely no idea how to do it myself .

The Guerlain one was very enthusiastically recommended in Oprah's 'O' magazine, which was how I came to try it, it was expensive at $45, but so worth it! As I mentioned before, I have tried other expensive and also cheap ones, but this is by far the best - natural looking, decent cover, almost lights up the area(!).

I use this one by benefit It is called Boi-ing. Irritating name but very good.

I only use a tinted moisturiser for everyday coverage and need a little extra help under eye. It is very good, nice and creamy so you dont feel like you are dragging the skin. Blends well and most importantly it seems, no weird smell .

Lasts ages too. Not too expenseive at £15.50 especially since it lasts so long.

Highly recommended.
