All welcome

Veils drawn over last week...

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

oh btw bootcamping has been crap, spent week in yorkshire on hols (girls now in playscheme) and had TERRIBLE RSI (literally woke me up, was living on ibuprofen/hot water bottles) and have been banned from knitting! (marina will understand/empathise)
It basically means pain of varying degrees from shoulder blade/back to elbow specially my non-existent triceps. and i can't unhook my bra myself or put my coat on without a wince

am feeling lost!

have eaten lots of rubbish as consequence (yeah, who'm i kiddin?) and bits of alcohol too.

university challenge was good - kept shouting "it's not rocket science, you know" at the (losing) rocket scientists..

MrsClinton · 15/04/2008 13:25

not sure why I'm Mrs C

just posted it on the "which MN name would you have if you started again" and then, well, I thought I quite like it

no real political under(or over)tones

just like it

marina · 15/04/2008 14:12

Am wondering if I can persuade dsis to persuade them that the niecelet has cloned herself twice, both clones ageing rapidly and one has changed gender...you're a scientist, that sounds plausible, no?

MrsClinton · 15/04/2008 14:16

entirely feasible.

am on phone to Nature Genetics

yup

you're in

Love2dance · 15/04/2008 14:30

Can I join too? Just reading this thread is an inspiration/willpower boost. Working FT so not always easy to fit in exercise. DS is 15m and due to irritating chest infections etc since November my exercise "programme" has stalled. Have just started walk/jogging v.v.slowly in local Park but still a bit wheezy (am athsmatic too) but enjoyed it.

Anyone got tips for post pregnancy thread veiny legs?

MrsClinton · 15/04/2008 15:47

enid

this is he

sorry don't have his private practice number - his secretary shoudl have it, his private practice is funnily enough in harley st.

tharsheblows · 15/04/2008 18:37

I want a body brush and the spots can keep my varicose veins and stretch marks company.

My boys grind their teeth at night. I was reduced to stuffing tissues in my ears when we stayed in a hotel overnight together (in the same bed, argh). I will invest in wax earplugs for those (frequent) occasions when one of them ends up in my bed. Luckily dh responds to kicking when he snores.

ts - I remember that! I was so sad for your son. Hope subsequent parties have been better...

I have been not very good today which is discouraging:

  • frosted wheats
  • cafe latte and muffin at Starbucks near hopsital (allowed if in conjunction with visit to dr, right?)
  • some fab Asian inspired soup my husband made
  • toast with butter, cinnamon sugar and bananas
  • cafe latte
  • filter coffee
  • dates
and not yet but
  • pizza for dinner

Not enough water, very little exercise and probably not in bed by 10.30pm with all the coffee and a bit of stress induced insomnia happening.

Still in holiday 'fuck it' mode, I suppose.

Welcome Love2dance!

Prufrock · 15/04/2008 18:43

Oh it's so lovely to see such a lot of lovely people here. But very confusing for you all to change names. I can't possily be expected to remeber original mumsnet names, rl names and new names. Does it not feel wierd to be someone you're not IYSWIM? Tshell I never realised you were musica! And JJ welcome welcome. Love2dance - only thing is laser treatment, hellishly expensive but it woks.

Batters I'm back to being good too, and it does make such a difference. Though dh was away last night so didn't get to sleep until 2 so am still tired today.

unknownrebelbang · 15/04/2008 18:51

Should I consider myself lucky that a dig in the ribs tends to be enough with DH snoring? His coming in at stoopid hours are my biggest problem.

It isn't that long since you had the diabetes test is it www? Mothers can be hateful at times. My mother once said to me "well you'll never suffer from anorexia will you?" Well, erm nooooooo, thank fk.

MIL sounds delightful batters.
Childsize (and mansize) Boxes could solve a whole range of issues methinks.

Ouch Bundle, hope your symptoms ease soon.

Welcome love2dance

unknownrebelbang · 15/04/2008 19:00
  • Sunscreen yy
  • No booze
  • 30 mins on ex bike. Rain stopped play with the walk today. Fickle, moi?
  • Lots of weak tea/water.
  • Apply body cream lax
  • Use hand cream lax
  • Go to bed early, 11ish last night.
  • Eat healthily, not too bad today, few too many biscuits.

DS2 made me laugh today. He told me I looked nice (charmer), and asked where I was going, because I looked like I was going to a party. I do like my black uniform suit with brightly coloured tops for all occasions, but fear I may have to enhance my wardrobe somewhat. Usual work attire is black trousers or jeans so not that different, ah but I did wear my hair up (always gets comments, lol, should do it more often).

At a meeting this morning (reason for suit) I sat taking minutes and couldn't stop myself from giggling to myself. There I am in a room with various managers and six female magistrates - I just couldn't help wondering if any of them were like Cod. Can you imagine - six Cods in one room? rofl.

WideWebWitch · 15/04/2008 19:52

snort at this thread, especially your mum saying "you'll never get anorexia" wtfkingf? but snort snort too. No, not long since I had diabetes and thyroid tests, no probs with either.

Gosh, Lady Mucca made a pass at your dh bundle? ha ha. So, MrsClinton, hmm, I used to quite fancy Clinton and can believe he has charisma and prescence and stuff. I hope your RSI gets better soon, poor you, that hurts I bet.

Enid, sorry about the snoring, I am the snorer in our house (only when I've been drinking or have a cold) and dh sometimes retreats to downstairs. We need a spare room.

lol at all of us muttering abut being 41 and tired!

Love2dances, welcome! Lots of us work ft or pt so we ARE all knackered! But bootcamp does make us feel slightly less so when we do it.

tharsheblows, yes, muffins allowed in times of stress.

lol at MIL batters and at shooting dp, ha ha.

OO, sympathy on the pmt, I feel so much happier now mine has gone.
