All welcome

Veils drawn over last week...

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

I am having serious thoughts about eating the last remaining Easter egg, which has sat on the side in the kitchen for days.

I can't even remember which child it belongs to.

I think I should eat the whole bloody thing

whaddah think?

WideWebWitch · 15/04/2008 19:58

banana
apple
100g granola, 500 cal and absolutely does keep me full until lunchtime
M&S crayfish, mango and rocket salad, 501 cal
banana
apple
quarter of a baked potato with left over bolognase I made last night and some romaine lettuce with small amount of PE olive oil dressing
no wine
plenty of water
used sunscreen
feel happy
walked on commute but must start doing more
was in bed at 10.30 last night

wow, I WAS good! I have been saying to myself today "no, I don't drink in the week" as I feel this is a habit I must get back into. That's my mssion, I did AGES of just not drinking in the week at all and I need to get back to it I think, I do feel better for it. And I think I must start seenig weekends as ok to drink but not to eat enormous amounts of fattening food.

I look like shite but I know it takes a while to filer through to my face, thsi bootcamp stuff. Give it a week and I feel it will be better.

Iota, I think you should decide it's off and chuck it in the bin

that was 2 bananas and 2 apples btw, so I reckon I've had 7 portions of fruit/veg today

Just eat it Iota.

I need chocolate (but am refraining) - just insured the car for ds1. Second mortgage comes to mind I need a lie down/stiff drink/both.

Hello new peeps.

Iota · 15/04/2008 20:08

hmmmm have just started watching how to look good naked - lots of bare flesh on show - maybe I'll be strong and resist

Iota · 15/04/2008 20:08

the kids ate chocolate eclairs in front of me earlier - I only bought 2 - one each for them

Iota · 15/04/2008 20:11

Saggers - 8 yrs for me to save up before we have that problem

OK I have resisted - I'm having a large glass of water instead

Gok has saved me from myself

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 15/04/2008 20:17

Start saving! Just feeding three of the beggars is a shocker - I'd like Jamie to tell me how I can feed em for a fiver. I think they've all got hollow legs.

unknownrebelbang · 15/04/2008 20:19

My three have all got hollow legs - and my eldest is similar age to your youngest.

Gawd help me in a couple of years!

unknownrebelbang · 15/04/2008 20:20

And I really don't want to even think about the cost of car insurance for 'em!

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 15/04/2008 20:26

And driving lessons - jeez - ds1 took five goes to pass his test. That's nearly £90 a time! I'm going to have to send 'em down the mines so they can pay their own way.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 15/04/2008 20:43

Goodness, it's busy here! And there's far too much to reply to. Most of which I don't understand! Tho' I would say if an M&S sandwich is 500 cals, then I'd have had a Big Mac and be done with it! And nice to see the granola back.

I finally saw a physiotherapist today who tells me I haven't been hobbling about with sciatica but my seat bones (sacroliliac joints) were out of line and she clunked them back in - painful but worth it. I have Hypermobile Joints (ie. I'm very bendy) and this is why. So no NCT exercises to open up my pelvis, it could already be used as a basketball hoop.

I've eaten cereal; lots of biscuits; raw carrots; bread & butter; apple; plum; tomatoey sausage casserole with lots of veg & beans in it & quinoa; small slice of Victoria sponge.

Lots of water, not much coffee. Face, hands, body & feet all done. Didn't go to bed until midnight but I did get quite a lot of sleep, so hurrah for that.

Day out with mother tomorrow so expect ranting. [snarling emoticon]

MrsClinton · 15/04/2008 23:05

which books www?

my book group are reading: The Book Thief (ok, about halfway thru) and Toni Morrison and paolo coelho books (can't remember titles) are next.

tharsheblows · 15/04/2008 23:29

I feel put to shame by Iota's virtuous refusal and WWW food list.

Unknown - that made me laugh!

Duchess, am glad you got clunked back in. DS2 was coming out back to back and the guy just flipped him around and he plopped right out.

SMBK, I don't want to think about how much more they are going to cost. I did threaten to send DS1 to work as a chimney sweep the other day. Forget why, but he's skinny and likes to be dirty so it could work, I think.

MrsC, did not vote for you and hope you don't do well next week, sorry, but am interested in your opinion of The Book Thief.

Did anyone watch Battlestar Galactica?

And wow, you guys have some mothers and mothers-in-law that can be tactless if not downright vile! Makes me appreciate mine, although I reserve the right to complain sometimes.

Morning all!
12,000 steps outdoors yesterday, healthy eating until 9pm when a small Easter egglet fell onto the sofa next to me - I blame Iota for giving me the idea, plenty of water but need to dig out the flexitol for the old hooves.
Trains have been rubbish for past 24 hours so walk was spiked this morning But have shelved energetically (this is what librarians do when the library is closed, heheheheh) instead.
Good luck with MIL today duchess and glad you have a solution to the sciatica-like pain.
MrsC, Then we Came to the End and If You're Talking to Me, Your Career Must be in Trouble I think
Am swooning with realisation that we have two bootcampers with offspring old enough to learn to drive. Must start saving now!

iamdingdong · 16/04/2008 10:10

mornign all, have been rather lax recently, DTs have been at my parents since sunday - bliss but we're picking them up today so will have to get back on track with healthy eating etc, skincare has been going well though, DH said I looked 10 yrs younger the other day (I daren't ask how old I usually look!)

Will now try to catch up

MrsClinton · 16/04/2008 10:13

tharsheblows, I'm about halfway through. it has really compelling bits, am quite engrossed in whole Rudy/Liesel/Max relationship..and the marvellous Hans/Rosa

not sure it "needs" death as narrator, iykwim but can see why it's been used as a device

found it hard going at beginning though

MrsClinton · 16/04/2008 10:14

oh and i've run out of exfoliator - any top tips?

had a brief look in johnny lou lou's yesterday and was tempted to go back to origins one i used to have (never a dull moment?) but it's pricey (£20+)

have dryish skin but not sensitive really

marina · 16/04/2008 10:21

Body or fizzog

FYIAD · 16/04/2008 10:24

Had lovely night at book group studiously avoiding talking about The Other Boleyn Girl. Had small glasas of wine (was driving). Came home and had very funny chat with dh about stuff - slept like a log so am quite cheerful today.

marina thems some impressive steps - my pedometer seems to have run out of batteries (hasnt been used for many a year ). Dh has one at work and is bringing it home tonight. But I walked to school and back (about 20 minutes) and will do the same later. Will also be spending most of the mornign outside with dd3 trying to do weeding but probably pushing her on swing/rescuing her from top of climbing frame/playing tea parties in the wendy house.

have eaten:
small tin of baked beans (dd1 has baked beans and scrambled egg with a dollop of Reggae Reggae sauce for breakfast!)
probably fat laden nutty 'health' bar
handful of sesame soy rice chips (they just slipped in while i was dividing them into bags for packed lunches honest guv )

Flexitol not really needed here but damn good pedicure ESSENTIAL, I will have to wear socks to pilates tonight things are that bad.

FYIAD · 16/04/2008 10:25

bundy, when pennies are tight I like soap and glory Flake Away - cheap and cheerful and effective - it is for body but I occasionally use it on my face [naughty]. you get it in Boots.

marina · 16/04/2008 10:36

FYIAD, their stuff is good isn't it. I've got the body wash and it's cheap and effective
I really, really don't like Philippa Gregory. I thought the book was junk, the TV adaptation bizarre and have cast the film into the outer circle of "DON'T show me this again" on LoveFilm.
Must round up my school coven and get our much-vaunted Book Group started.

marina · 16/04/2008 10:37

Steps are largely achieved doing grumpy stomp from London Bridge into City with millions of other wage slaves and then lunch-time Wall of Death circuit round EC2 with Chemical Brothers rattling in my ear btw
Get yourself a Moron - they honestly are worth the extra pennies and batteries last about 6-9 months
