Could I get some honestly about this one hundred stars dress. My family say it's weird. It's not what I usually wear but I think I like it

This is the view of the front on the website. It is an unusual shape.

The finish on the hem doesn’t seem very good for a £120 dress.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/05/2024 23:43

Is it this dress? It doesn't look great on the model either.

FeedMeWell · 21/05/2024 23:50

I have this dress in a different print but similar base colour. It looks completely different with a belt, for me more flattering. I got a cream leather belt in M & S which goes really well with it.

SnowFrogJelly · 22/05/2024 00:05

Nightie?

minipie · 22/05/2024 00:08

It might just work with a belt

Definitely doesn’t flatter you (or I suspect anyone) without a belt

Why not order the cover up or kimono in this fabric instead, will be more wearable

Appleblum · 22/05/2024 01:02

It looks much better on you than on the model! I'd change the shoes.

I know the yoot are now into longer socks but Christ on a Bike those are ugly.

Bearpawk · 22/05/2024 01:38

I really like that shape.
Bizarre that people think if you're not showing off your waist or cleavage it's unacceptable 😂

GogAndMagog · 22/05/2024 01:50

You need to replicate the 'hour glass' in your outfits according to a you tuber I saw recently.

You are replicating a table in this. Sorry OP.

EnglishBluebell · 22/05/2024 01:58

@MrsTerryPratchett Completely agree! That poor model 🙈

Maddy70 · 22/05/2024 06:06

Its a weird shape on you.

(Reminds me of my nans "housecoat" )

Ohyay · 22/05/2024 06:15

It just needs styling better. I love my One Hundred Stars Rachel dress. Daintier shoes. Maybe a belt. They sell an Obi belt or you can buy the style on Amazon.

Maybe they're bed socks and the dress is secretly a nightie?

BlossomBlossomBlossom · 22/05/2024 07:53

Oh dear … You need to get off YouTube @GogAndMagog …

Floisme · 22/05/2024 07:53

I hardly ever wear dresses but I quite like the shape of this one. There is no law that says we must dress to show off our figures.

I'm not so sure I like the colours.

For me the decider would be the fabric and how it felt.

What do you love about it op?

sweetnessandlighter · 22/05/2024 07:56

I like it. Sod what anyone else thinks.

It’s hard to tell because your phone and arm are up but it looks like it hangs funny?

Yes I'm not a fan of this shape

behonestwithyourself · 22/05/2024 07:59

I am a big fan of their other products but not the dresses. If you are uncertain now it's a no.

Floisme · 22/05/2024 08:10

But the op says she loves the dress. From what I can see, the uncertainty isn't to do with not liking it, but because it's different from what she usually wears and because she's had negative comments from family (who presumably also find it unfamiliar). I think most of us feel a bit unconfident when we step outside our comfort zone.

TennisBowl · 22/05/2024 08:14

This would suit you op

TennisBowl · 22/05/2024 08:14

Of the 2 I prefer the pleated version but the Rachel dress is an interesting shape as well.

I'm not hugely keen on the material 100 Stars use; both dresses would be perfect as far as I'm concerned if they were in cotton (lawn or poplin) silk or tencel.

The "ooh it looks like a nighty/ my nan's housecoat" comments are boring. They appear on every thread where a dress fails to meet the prime objective of "showing off your figure"

queenparrot · 22/05/2024 08:52

^Even so, it does look like a bathrobe. Perhaps a nice sheer robe to be worn when visiting an upmarket spa.

thefamous5 · 22/05/2024 09:14

The colours and patterns are lovely on you. They really suit your fair skin.

But the shape is pretty horrendous. You've got a lovely figure but that just does nothing for it.
