Hunza G swimsuit - splurge or not

User000001234 · 28/04/2024 19:18

Please can someone talk me down from spending £175 on a swimsuit that I will probably wear for about 3 weeks a year?!

Here it is www.hunzag.com/collections/swimsuit/products/domino-swim-black

Also, I'm a size 14 with a belly...these swimsuits claim to be one size fits all but I can't seem to find any pics of what someone who's would look like in it.

One size fits all? It does not seem to fit even the model.

I'd spend that much on 5-6 swimsuits with varying styles and colours instead, tbh

MaybeWeShouldGoToEastbourne · 28/04/2024 19:23

I have a one size fits all swimsuit from ASOS in this same material - it’s great, so I’d just buy one of them instead

Type “ASOS crinkle swimsuit” in the search bar and several come up

Chrysanthemum5 · 28/04/2024 19:24

That definitely looks like it will instantly disappear between your bum cheeks and be really uncomfortable. I'd save your money

DontPlayInMySandbox · 28/04/2024 19:34

Ooh. If you have a bit of tummy to take up the material, you are going to be indecent at the front, and with a thong up your arse .

LeChatChat · 28/04/2024 19:48

Saw someone on Instagram say she accidentally put hers in the tumble drier and all the elastic went 😲I think they look great, but it'd be an accident waiting to happen round here!

Does it have any bust support built it?

clarepetal · 28/04/2024 20:00

You'd have to shave most of your fanny off, and I can't be arsed with that..it's a no from me and my hairy fanny

SuncreamAndIceCream · 28/04/2024 20:00

I think there's nicer swimsuits you could spend £175 on to be honest. I don't get what's so great about it.

effoffwind · 28/04/2024 20:03

It doesn't even fit her !
OP you can get lovely swimsuits for under £40 , this would be such a waste ?

KirstenBlest · 28/04/2024 20:06

Shop around and you'll find someone selling it for about £75.

I'm sure you could find a nicer one on the high street or in a supermarket.

No, and I probably should have said - not a good option if you want a lot of bum coverage

ManonDe · 28/04/2024 20:11

I am baffled by this swimsuit. It makes the model look lumpy and mis-shapen so lord knows what it would do to a normal person. And it's so... ordinary... for that price.

I fucked mine up by hand washing a stain too vigorously.

It’s practically unwearable now. 😭

Hahahaha I second that! And for £175, that’s crazy!

justaskingaquestion · 28/04/2024 20:31

There was recently a school mum who went to Dubai for her 40th with a load of other school mums. They ALL wore these and every time I saw one of the many insta posts I laughed at how ridiculous they all looked in matching swimwear. It's a shit, expensive fad in my book. Save your money.

Eachpeach6 · 28/04/2024 21:10

Im 5’3 & size 12 with a c section ledge & big boobs, it certainly did fit me but was horrendously unflattering & I had to return. It hugged & showed up literally every lump & bump no matter how slight! My size 8 long & lean friend looks unreal in it but unfortunately I looked like a sack of potatoes 😭

PrimalLass · 28/04/2024 21:17

What is supposed to be so great about this one? It's so plain and not exactly covering the necessities!

Runningbird43 · 28/04/2024 21:20

It’s so boring! And not flattering at all.

what’s so great about it any sane person would spend £175 on it?

PrincessOfPreschool · 28/04/2024 21:23

I change a lot of pull ups and it reminded me of that crinkly stuff on the side of a pull up, as soon as I saw it. I wouldn't wear it if you paid ME 175.00!

User000001234 · 29/04/2024 06:41

Thanks everyone, glad I started this thread as it's the reality check I needed. The swimsuit is firmly out of the shopping basket.

I certainly don't want some high fanny maintenance, arse crack riding, pull up style cossie!

TheExclusiveSandwich · 29/04/2024 06:43

That is an incredibly ordinary and slightly boring swimsuit. It looks like you’re about to do swimming during a PE lesson.
My top tip on swimwear is always to go to Bodden, they are less expensive and really nice designs.

TheExclusiveSandwich · 29/04/2024 06:43

Oh sorry. Missed that

londoner72 · 29/04/2024 06:45

I would splurge and go for it. I've got three of them and they make me feel amazing. They hide all your lumps and bumps and if you look after them, wash well!

AlpineMuesli · 29/04/2024 06:51

Well I read it as Humza, as in Yosaf, swimsuit so perhaps that would put you off.
