Hunza G swimsuit - splurge or not

User000001234 · 28/04/2024 19:18

Please can someone talk me down from spending £175 on a swimsuit that I will probably wear for about 3 weeks a year?!

Here it is www.hunzag.com/collections/swimsuit/products/domino-swim-black

Also, I'm a size 14 with a belly...these swimsuits claim to be one size fits all but I can't seem to find any pics of what someone who's would look like in it.

I have a one size fits all swimsuit from ASOS in this same material - it’s great, so I’d just buy one of them instead

Type “ASOS crinkle swimsuit” in the search bar and several come up

Is it this one? www.asos.com/prd/203647171?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

Do you mind me asking what size you are?

Crikey, it looks horrible on the model so god knows what it will look like on the average person.

LittleMonks11 · 29/04/2024 07:49

Don't buy it because it's meh and bottom munching, not because it's £175. White Stuff has amazing swimsuits - flattering, thick material that conceals wobbly bits - and lovely tankinis. I have several of them and they're the best I've ever had. Seafolly are also amazing but pricey. Try the sales.

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 29/04/2024 07:58

I have 2 and they are amazing. They are so stretchy you can adjust the rise to wear it lower if you want. They look great with shorts or skirts. I have a black halter neck and it's so versatile as can be swimwear or a top.

They are £££ I got my first one with discount code on net a porter and 2nd one was 50% off. Not sure I'd pay £175 though.

Bravissimo do bra sized ones just like that —without flashing— for about £75- I’ve got one of their Cancun ones in the same fabric.

Agree. I have big boobs and the bra size ones are perfect. I use them a lot in summer ( live somewhere hot ) and they have lasted well.

I would if I was a 6ft skinny person but alas, I am not.

This is similar and supportive

Cant comment on that brand but if you have the money to pay for it and it makes you feel amazing buy it. But I have one from toast that makes me feel good and was 'only' £45 in their sales

Canyoudigityesyoucan · 29/04/2024 08:24

To offer some balance I got one last year, am same size as you. It’s the best thing I’ve purchased. Supremely comfortable, fabric is thick but breathable and it looks so chic and elegant on. Copies of it just aren’t the same- I adore mine: so much so I went and ordered a bikini too!

I am super careful about washing it and sitting on the side of the pool ( to avoid pulls on bum) but would 100% buy again

JanewaysBun · 29/04/2024 09:15

Someone i follow on insta wore hers in a hot tub and rendered it unwearable. Appatently they cant go in got tubs, but i dont want to always worry about the chlorine content of bodies of water im in!

FrogTheWarrior · 29/04/2024 09:38

You can see everything on the pink wearing model! Blimey.

Glad you are swerving this one OP. Definitely an emperor’s new clothes situation, let the mugs spend the £££.

User000001234 · 29/04/2024 09:48

I've just ordered a variety of swimsuits from M&S, ASOS and H&M to try on in the comfort of my own home.

Think it's a case of expectations vs reality and I was a bit deluded really! Also let's face it, holidays with kids mean I'm not laying on a sun lounger all day so I don't want to be constantly pulling a swimsuit out of arse crack.

It is nice to hear that some people love it though, maybe if it's discounted in the future I'd give it a go.

The hand washing factor is another thing that would put me off, I would cry if I ruined such an expensive swimsuit.

After some googling, I've actually found someone trying on some of the Hunza G swimsuits. Think she's a size 16 or 18.

They actually don't look very bun munching on her or too highly cut either. I am still resisting though.

Don't do it!!

I'm a size 10 and 5ft9 with excess skin on my stomach (thanks kids) and boobs that are quite small but need support.

I bought one and was sure it was going to be amazing. It was so unflattering. My boobs were squashed down and it was so high cut at the front and back, I was at risk of being arrested for indecent exposure (if I didn't die from thrush first)

Then after wearing it once, it piled loads because I dared sit on the edge of a pool.

I can't bring myself to throw it away but it torments me every time I open my underwear drawer.

Dreamycinemascape · 29/04/2024 10:40

For that money I'd want my own specific size and a built in bra/support. It's just a plain old black crinkle cut swimsuit.

justalitteon · 29/04/2024 10:53

These costumes look good, I'm considering...

The green one particularly looks really tight across her boobs. I wonder if she'd be as enthusiastic if the brand hadn't given them to her.

Dorsetpea · 29/04/2024 11:14

You can't go wrong with Pour Moi. Fab quality and very flattering.

TheExclusiveSandwich · 29/04/2024 21:28

I just think they look really boring

TheExclusiveSandwich · 29/04/2024 21:30

Op

for the love of God, do not wear a black swimsuit abroad you look like you are in mourning

Abracadabra1 · 29/04/2024 21:49

Don't waste your money, unless you are very slender and don't want much covered stay well away. They are awful!

JanewaysBun · 01/05/2024 09:21

That girl in thr tiktok is beautiful but it does nothing for her. It's see through and doesnt fit
