Every time I walk past the store I get a glorious waft of the beautiful perfumes. Haven’t treated myself in a while so wondered what your recommendations are?

Blazing Mister Tom. Bit of a "masculine" scent, but hey, who really cares?! I llove it!

MercyChant66 · 18/04/2024 01:21

Bluebell and Lily & Spice - both sadly discontinued!

AprilBringsTheSweetSpringShowers · 18/04/2024 01:41

I’ve just gone through their Fragrance Profiling and ended up with the ingenue Cousin Flora, which is my favourite anyway.

Why would they suggest this one if it’s been discontinued?

Which Penhaligon’s perfume do you recommend?
dandeliondandy · 18/04/2024 02:26

Can't believe they have discontinued Bluebell. It was one of their best and most beloved scents. Princess Diana used to wear it.

Alchemistress · 18/04/2024 02:38

I do like Halfeti but it's so ubiquitous now and people really do drench themselves in the stuff.

Cairo for me, with that in mind.

Vulcanodon · 18/04/2024 05:24

Quercus
yasmine
empressa

ASighMadeOfStone · 18/04/2024 06:05

Bluebell is definitely available on the website.

(As pps have mentioned Penhaligon's has some of the best sales- not highly advertised even on the website, but very bargainous and they throw freebies in as well)

I find the stores hit and miss regarding product awareness as well. I'd seen on the website a small bottle of Artemisia which is my dd's favourite and in-store the assistant swore blind it didn't exist.

lotsofpeoplenametheirswords · 18/04/2024 06:07

Empressa
Luna
Halfeti

In that order!

Grumblevision · 18/04/2024 09:11

The only one I've ever enjoyed was juniper sling but it lasts about 5 minutes on my skin. That's not an exaggeration unfortunately. Happy to hear of similar that last. Other than that, none of them. There's no complexity to them, and they seem to have several that just smell like versions of each other. It's been a few years since I was given their sample set so they may have changed but I never found any I'd spend money on, especially at the amounts they charge.

StartupRepair · 18/04/2024 09:32

I loved a sample I got of Blenheim bouquet, a lemony cologne worn by Churchill.

Ontheflipside_ · 18/04/2024 09:35

Empressa

Ontheflipside_ · 18/04/2024 09:36

Oh I also had a mini of 'My Favourite' which is lovely

LenaLamont · 18/04/2024 09:42

I find Penhaligon’s perfume lasts all day and I can still smell it on my skin when I go to bed - or on my scarf when I put it on a day or two later.

@ChicagoBears I would definitely suggest having a spritz in the shop and wearing it for the day to see how you like it. Some perfumes are very different on an individual’s skin, and at Penhaligon’s prices you can’t afford to gamble.

Definitely sign up, you get alerts for the decent sales/offers that would otherwise pass you by.

DivaDroid · 18/04/2024 10:01

I found Quercus smelled like CKone 🙈😂
I'd recommend getting the scent libraries to find your favourite - still working through mine.
Although I was gifted bottles of Halfeti & Constantinople, I love them along with Duchess Rose.

BoneshakerBike · 17/04/2024 22:49

I liked bluebell
Big list of discontinued:
Violetta
Bluebell
English Blackberry
Peoneve
Equinox Bloom
Lavendula
Gardenia (maybe comes and goes)
Iris Prima
The one with a ferny bit

Jubilee Bouquet isn’t on your list, @BoneshakerBike. Was it completely discontinued or did they change the name at some point? (Vague memory of this possibility.)

I was completely addicted to it in the late 80s.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 18/04/2024 12:59

Halfeti lovers - which one do you mean as there seems to be 2?

paristotokyo · 18/04/2024 14:08

@FormerlySpeckledyHen just the original is my favourite. Think they do one with leather and cedar also. They currently have samples of halfeti on their website if you'd like to try it. You can purchase 3 free samples and only pay the price of postage so might be a good way to try it.

Thank you very much.
After posting my question I did a profile thingy on their website and got sucked into the 3 sample thing somehow , so have them on the way, including the Halfeti which sounds perfect for me. I’m staying in London for a few days shortly and might have to pay a visit to a boutique 😄

ChicagoBears · 17/04/2024 22:51

A real mix, I’m going to make a list of the 5 most popular on here and go to store to sample. I adore the smell of the store which I think is halfeti but not 100%.

Do they have regular sales or is just Christmas?

@ChicagoBears Noted Aromas do an amazing Halfeti dupe.

Comefromaway · 18/04/2024 14:21

Halfeti is the one they pump out at the door so if you have smelt something walking past it is likely to be that one.

FiddleFigs · 18/04/2024 14:25

Castile is my favourite.

I struggle to sample the different fragrances in store - too many competing scents. Might order some of the samples to try out, I hadn't realised they offered them!

Blackcats7 · 18/04/2024 14:33

None since they discontinued Violetta. Luckily I had a stash and bought some boxed unopened ones on ebay.
I don’t who advises them on the new fragrances, marketing etc but I don’t like it.

paristotokyo · 18/04/2024 14:36

Interestingly I tried a sample of Solaris as it sounded like something that I would really be into. But I absolutely despised it on me and actually had a visceral reaction to it Grin so deffo try samples on your skin first!

Fleurons · 18/04/2024 14:41

i Love ❤️ Penhaligon perfumes - well a few of them. I will be back after consideration. Thank you for posting this. I came across Penhaligon perfumes accidentally a few years ago. They are expensive for me, I wish that were different but heh. Maybe I would even go without a couple of meals for the right perfume!

But the smell of Penhaligon compared to usual commercial perfumes, is definitely superior; lightly intoxicating as opposed to being hit over the head with a hammer is one way of explaining it.

ChicagoBears · 18/04/2024 20:42

Thanks for all the posts, I’m all signed up and will wait for an offer and then go down to the store to sample a few. Love how unique the smells are.
