50+ , what do you do?

Just over 50 now and can no longer ignore the signs of ageing. Keen to know what others do to battle these out? In particular, how do you combat the face and chin? All these loose bits, pigmentation, dark circles and general lack of vitality! What is your go-to treatment, cosmetics, or a piece of make-up you can not imagine without in your 50s? What do you swear by?

For meat 62 it's plenty of tinted moisturiser, soft eyeliner, eyebrow tint , sunglasses and a dab of bronzer on cheekbones ( well in that general area) - I don't like lipstick much anymore but do use rituals lip tint if I go out

I am only 46 but it's starting to show. Things I find make a noticeable difference when I can be bothered to do them:

Enough sleep and water
Collagen supplements
Foreo bear micro current thingy

Very gentle with skin - when younger I used to scrub it, steam it, hot flannels etc. Now I use a gel for rosacea, la roche posay or avene products including a cream wash with lukewarm water, and 50+ sunscreen at all times. Never scrub or exfoliate anymore. My skin is ok.

Make sure you know which colours suit you, wear your best colours close to your face, always wear a lipstick in the right colours too, and smile 😃

I’m 55 and look fantastic 😃
Good posture.
Low end, not under of BMI.
Lots of water, lots of good fat and 30 grains and veg/ week.

I use mild cleanser or mild soap and water at night with olay cream or liz earle overnight mask and olay eye cream. I use elemis in the morning and a serum.

I use dior foundation that was a real find for me in my mid 40’s - I have dior or Rihanna's lipgloss (can’t remember Rihanna’s actual range name) and benefit waterproof mascara! I drink loads of water too!

I don't think you are wrong. I agree. It's about health. Healthy looks better. I train hard. I actively build muscle mass as we lose it with age and loss of muscle mass is one of the** biggest factor in looking old. Keep a steady weight at the mid to low end of BMI (although as I weight train I tend to weigh at the top end of BMI but look like I'm at the low end). Keep hydrated. Eat lots of plants. Good quality protein

Constant use of SPF50

I cleanse, tone and moisturise with some fairly cheap stuff and use a CC cream if I'm out for the day. i really can't be bothered with a big palaver of stuff. I have a younger relative who has a line of about 15 bottles of stuff she puts on her face and tbh it doesn't make her look any better.

I'm fortunate that I look a lot younger than I am and don't have any wrinkles or great signs of ageing - the one good thing my mother did was pass on her youthful genes!

Putting on a couple of stone fills out wrinkles and saggy skin.

I’ve started adding reps to activities I do a lot. So making a coffee which takes 3 minutes including a couple of trips to the sink I do squats as the machine heats up, lunge walk to the sink to empty the heated cup, lunge back and then squat as the cup fills. I do that 5/6 times a day.
