All welcome

Veils drawn over last week...

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

I was going to do a call-out for you iris, had not seen you around for quite a bit. How are things at home - improving I hope

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 04/04/2008 19:57

Welcome back iris!

FIS - Did you have a nice day working at home? The weather here was lovely, hope you got to see some of it too.

pru - hmm, I know about ambling with dogs but at least it's fresh air . Enjoy your routine next week - we're finally on school hols and I'm looking forward to NOT having a routine!

ureb - the teacher sounds great and how nice that you've had so much use out of her!

Over 7,000 steps and lots of fresh air. Midwife came this morning and everything looks fine, iron levels are lowish (10.1) but that's actually very good for me but I'll be taking the iron supplement everyday from now on.

I've eaten OJ & iron; strong coffee; cheese & biscuits; apple; raw carrots; half a raw pepper; plum; and for dinner, sausage, chips & corn on the cob. And some white chocolate Easter Egg. Lots of water.

Tried early night but couldn't sleep so got up and MN'd & worked until 1.30am. Still didn't sleep but stayed in bed anyway.

Face & hand cream yes. Body & feet no.

Yippee! No school runs for 2 weeks AND I finally have a physio appointment for my stiff arse!

foxinsocks · 04/04/2008 20:03

yes, thanks Duchess, I did. Was very busy - got loads of calls grrr and had to do a fair bit of work but was so nice not commuting (the builders are STILL at home so it was v noisy!). And I got to drop off and pick up the children from school and go to the playground (and see all the mums and dads at school and catch up on the gossip ).

Had a ginger beer and banana for breakfast, a chicken wrap and apricots for lunch and some grapes this afternoon. Can't decide what to do for dinner - may give in and get a takeaway!

What's wrong with your arse?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 04/04/2008 23:10

Not my arse particularly but sciatica in the general lower spine/pelvis area. Although I have had piles this week too. Isn't pregnancy fun?! And yet sooo many people are saying "oh you're blooming, pregnancy really suits you". Grrrr!

WideWebWitch · 05/04/2008 08:52

Bit lax bootcamp-wise over the last couple of days - did go to my Bodytone class last night though. I had a brief meet-up with one of my oldest friends yesterday - she's lost 5 stone She's coming round for wine tomorrow night, so combined with going out for a meal tonight I doubt the no booze/healthy eating aspects are going to feature much the very near future.

dd is a bit better (she's 14 batters, still my baby though)

Rebel - ds1 went for his interview yesterday (having got lost the day before going to to Manchester lol) He didn't pass but was very close and they've 'deferred' him for another interview in the next few months. He's disappointed but I think he should be pleased as he's not gone back to the 'paper' stage and it seems that most of the canditates yesterday were on there 3rd and 4th attempts.

Hello Iris hope life is on the up for you.

Hope L&S is doing OK with the new addition.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 05/04/2008 10:52

there their.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 05/04/2008 20:07

Hello all.

Only 6000 steps but so much hard work. DH & I re-roofed pony shelter and I did some digging in the garden.

I've eaten toast & marmite, ham sandwich, handful of crisps, apple, plum, raw carrots, biscuit and we've just watched Dr Who accompanied by fish & chips. Not enough water so I'll drink it all evening as I feel dehydrated and then I can get up for the loo several times tonight!

Rawther a late night again yesterday but I did sleep well. Face cream yes but everything else ignored.

Sciatica not bad and my cold is beginning to go. So fairly happy!

marina · 05/04/2008 20:31

Evening all! Spent most of today helping out at a church book sale so on feet but not moving around much apart from unpacking and then repacking a lot of Clive Cussler and Catherine Cooksons...
Have hot date with Mr Sauvignon and Mme Blanc later, yay
Am sort of wishing Adipose Industries was real
Glad to hear stiff behinds are unkinking and dds are improving all around
Your children's teacher sounds fab ureb!
Need more water, more cream, more walking

unknownrebelbang · 06/04/2008 09:23

Good morning!

Am about to embark on some work, but thought I'd visit MN first (probably fatal, lol).

Ate far too much on Friday, and and felt quite bleugh, but workwise things were more in control, and caught up with another mum on Friday evening.

Spent the day helping at cubcamp yesterday, which is always good for a laugh, and then met up with a dodgy woman and her family from t'internet (different talkboard) and had a lovely evening...even though I got slightly lost and then waited in the wrong hotel reception so was a leetle bit late. Was a bit hairy driving home in the snow which appeared after I'd decided to come home via the country lanes, lol.

Food was reasonable yesterday, although I've never had jelly for starters before, or eaten it with a knife and fork...

Got a day of peace, work aside, as DH is in bed, DS1 is at karate, and DS2+DS3 are away for the weekend, bliss.

unknownrebelbang · 06/04/2008 09:43

Shame about DS saggars, but DH was turned down on first attempt 30 years ago, and I agree that he should (eventually) be pleased with how well he did do, and use that to go forward.

I pass no comment on him getting lost - I got lost in Telford last night, ffs!

dingdong - DS2 was just a few ounces lighter than a set of triplets born the night before him. (he was 10lb 14, the triplets were just over 11lb combined).
Hope you're feeling better.

Hope DD recovered in time for the sleepover and grading batters, and that you're feeling better.

wb Iris.

Hope those who've been offside are feeling better and everyone is enjoying their weekend.

DuchessOfNorksSnowSpecial · 06/04/2008 19:12

Another day of physical hardship - doling out bales of hay due to the surprising amount of snow (see my snowy profile).

However, was done by lunchtime and then had hot shower with a rice body scrub. Lots of body lotion afterwards, have done feet and put extra face & hand cream on due to the cold. So feeling rather good.

I've eaten toast & marmite, lime cordial with an iron supplement, shortbread biscuit, coffee, cheese & crackers & fruit for lunch, strong coffee & handful of chocolate buttons, baked potato & salad & ham for dinner (everyone else had chilli but I'm sick of it). Lots of water.

Now I have to make the difficult choice of curling up on sofa in front of roaring fire with a book or doing the ironing...!
