All welcome

Veils drawn over last week...

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

that it's my birthday

so no camping of boots today pour moi

Oliveoil · 01/04/2008 14:14

happy birthday Bundle!

and my legs are skinny but that makes my stomach look bigger imo. Anyhoo, it is flabbier and I will not stand for it.

Tortoise - hope you are better now

Prufrock · 01/04/2008 16:34

Happy Birthday Bundle.

Hope you feel better soon.

I have once again managed to forget taht trainer was coming this afternoon, so did my usual 20 minutes cardio and 100 sit-ups this am. Only for DH to remind me at lunchtime that Janice was booked in for 3:15. I've just finished and feel absolutely dead. I can hardly lift my arms to drink water.

olive, if your only problem is a flabby belly then do try to find a flexibar class. I have raved about them on previosu bootcamps but it really is brilliant exercise for getting rid of muffin tops - in teh 5 weeks (10 sessions) after starting flexibar I lost 3 inches from my waist! (I put 1 back on in the next 5 weeks but that was down to alcohol)

Iota · 01/04/2008 17:51

Happy Birthday Bundle

I know 3 people who are having their birthday today - the other 2 will be sabotaging my bootcamp (lack of ) efforts by dragging me out to eat naughty food and drink wine.

Iota · 01/04/2008 17:52

And hello Olive

you will have to change your name to OliveFryLite

moonshine · 01/04/2008 18:00

Just a quick reporting for duty (sort of) but have been AWOL because of 1)in-laws visiting over the weekend 2)having been struck down by d&v bug. Hoping this can't last much longer....

unknownrebelbang · 01/04/2008 20:33

Happy birthday Bundle.

Hope folks are starting to feel better. Seems to be a lot of bugs about again. DS3 is definitely better. Louder and more boisterous than ever this last hour or so .

  • Sunscreen yy.
  • No booze.
  • No exercise.
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day, no, I need to get a drink.
  • Apply body cream as often as possible, lax
  • Use hand cream, lax
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if poss - noooo.
  • Eat healthily - ha! Failed again!
  • Be happy. I've made the most of my day off doing absolutely nothing caring for my darling boys. DS1 went paintballing, DS2 was kicking a ball around all day, and DS3 has been on the PS2, a lot (special dispensation and all that).

I have hidden most of the day tbh, because I've had strange men wandering around the garden. DH rang me at work yesterday, informing me about a quote he'd had for some work, so I said "yeah, ok, whatever" thinking we'd discuss it more later. This morning the noise outside seemed a bit close to home, lo and behold, they're digging out the garden! Didn't notice at first, as next door are having work done (it's next door's dad who's sorting the garden for us). DH had agreed with him to get it done, but even he wasn't expecting it to be started today! Am quite pleased though, because it does need doing.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 01/04/2008 20:36

Happy Birthday Bundle!

Olive - did you phone the gym?

Hello everyone else.

  • Sunscreen - Yes
  • No booze - natch!
  • Walking - 7,000 steps, mostly doing Year 1 Road Safety Training (f*&^ing boys ) plus lots of mucking out and hefting bales of hay about. And I've just had to chase an escapee chicken around a darkening garden. If this baby isn't early I'll eat my pitchfork.
  • Lots of water
  • Body cream -- only on legs.
  • Use hand cream - Yes, lots
  • Eat healthily - big glass of water and coffee for breakfast - not brilliant. 2 bowls homemade veg soup & homemade wholemeal bread for lunch. Lobster & prawns with green salad and a rice salad and more wholemeal bread for dinner. Have also had an apple and some raw carrots.
  • Be happy - Bottom on the mend and no chores planned for tomorrow!
WideWebWitch · 01/04/2008 20:37

I've considered it

OP posts:
marina · 01/04/2008 20:39

Oh, hi Olive, welcome to boot camp
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUNDY
Good day today - about 17,000 steps escorting ds and schoolfriend plus dd along the Thames Path to see Doris' crack once more before it gets filled in, and eat their own weight in edamame and noodles at nearby Wagamama
So, healthy lunch, lots of water, high happiness quotient
Dh's birthday tomorrow so a day off work for him and quality family time beckons
Sorry about your posterior DoNB and both ends of Moonshine plus input end of torty
Hope all feel better soon
Am v. intrigued as to what Chutney has to teach on a Sunday...

marina · 01/04/2008 20:41

Lots of x-posts...I hate having blokes buzzing about the place too Ureb, but glad ds3 is finally on the mend
DoNB will have to give her baby Stakhanov as a middle name, I've never heard the like of it

Oliveoil · 01/04/2008 20:45

ahem, did not phone gym, but will tomorrow!

tv ban works as follows: no tv in the morning or in the evening apart from Litle Bear () which I hate but it is part of their routine. So 30 mins.

when I am off work, they can have about 30 mins in the morning - Milkshake, various crap and then OFF until further Little Bear torture

the improvement in behaviour is amazing - playing together, toys out that are usually ignored

I used to use it as a babysitter but found them doolally after goggling it for a hour

this includes banning dvd's in the week as well, then they are considered 'a treat' at weekends

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 01/04/2008 20:56

marina - forget Flora Poste & her tea dress & wellies, the reality is that I am Meriam, the hired gel, heaving my bulk around the farmyard.

feetheart · 01/04/2008 21:10

Hello all

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUNDLE

Still no Bootcamp Baby news then?

Easter and the holidays have had an effect and I need to get back on track. I was doing really well throughout the Easter Sunday/Monday chocfest but fell spectacularly last Weds when we had an Easter Egg hunt here - a complete excess of cake/biscuit mixture before the event and stolen eggs/cakes/biscuits during and afterwards. The sugar excess has continued ever since, not helped by small children wanting to cook and not accepting chopping mushrooms as real cooking

Olive - I too am BAD when it comes to sugar (far, far, far worse than alcohol ). I also have the wobbly tummy syndrome though am attempting to bring it into line with a hula hoop which I think is working - cheaper than gym classes but involves getting motivated at home, but not for long!

I have however managed to keep my step count reasonably respectable (for me - long legs and all, remember?) The lack of walking to school has been replaced by running after DS (2.5) who has ditched the pushchair in favour of a scooter. Managed over 8,000 steps round Whipsnade on Sunday - mainly legging it after disappearing children

Off to drink water.

hello again, I've been a bit lax bootcamp wise since last post, but making up for it now due to tonsilitis preventing me from eating anything on a positive note my back seems to have cleared up

lovely weekend, took DTs to see enchanted on Sunday then pizza express for lunch followed by long walk in the woods, only one large glass of wine all day and did all body lotion stuff too, then Monday not too bad, glass of wine in the evening, fruit, sandwiches for lunch, salad for supper, tues quite good as throat had started to really hurt by then, no booze, no supper, likewise today I think
