Gold flats for night out

Going to a 40th at a bar in London in a couple of weeks.

I think it'll be dressy but not too dressy, and I'm planning to wear a black wide leg jumpsuit with gold hoops but I'm stuck on shoes - I definitely want flats, don't do heels any more.

Thinking I want some a bit like this but not sure if they'd be right? Any other ideas?

Would something like this work?

Lucia573 · 08/04/2024 09:05

How about the Sézane flat Anya ballerinas in gold?

rockstarshoes · 08/04/2024 10:00

Sorry to jump on your thread OP but I'm after some gold/metallic chunky sandals if anyone has seen any nice ones!

rockstarshoes · 08/04/2024 10:01

Oh and I really like the ones you linked to!

I might go for those if I can't find any sandals! 😀

OhBuggerandArse · 08/04/2024 11:33

Gold trainers are a challenge - there's a very fine line between funky chick and bingo granny, and I think quite a lot of the ones I see are on the wrong side of it. But maybe I should just embrace my bingo granny-ness....

bravotango · 08/04/2024 08:57

Personally I'd go a bit dressier than trainers but obviously it's whatever you prefer! I like these: https://www.parfois.com/en/gb/shoes/flat-shoes/leather-slingback-ballerinas/218496_GD36.html

I like these. Have you shopped from there before, are the shoes comfortable, as they are very cheap!!

bravotango · 08/04/2024 11:50

I haven't! But they are a dupe of an Oliver bonas pair that I coveted and missed in the sales. Open to any other posters reviews of Parfois though as there are a few things I like the look of!

Haha so true. My mum is a great gold / silver trainer gran and I get it!

Loving the ballet flats and sling-backs.

shoehelp · 08/04/2024 15:00

Haha funnily enough I already have some gold slingbacks and thought they felt a bit granny-ish when I tried them on - shows how on the pulse I am 🤪

Actually my best friend who's recovered from a stroke but also I think has plantar fasciitis (now cured) has gone from Fitflops (which she still wears) to wedge shoes, they're actually a really good comfy option and better for your feet in some ways as trainers and flats can increase foot conditions like PF, I give you these, not the most glam in the world but they look good:

Office should also have some, H&M, New Look etc and also shops like Anthropologie, Whistles, M&S, most of the high street shops actually don't forget Cos maybe and Arket and &Other Stories.

I looked at Miu Miu ones which I used to love and they're all vile, and my god, the latest Chanel sandals are so plain!

VenusClapTrap · 08/04/2024 15:50

I like the chunky All Saints and Esska ones. I’m considering something along those lines for the summer myself. Maybe Lottas.

Oh, may I just ask - are the Lottas comfortable?

BaronessBomburst · 08/04/2024 18:28

I really like these from The Reformation but they're out of my budget.

Well I find them blissfully comfortable, but I’ve been wearing clogs for years. They’re very marmite; people seem to love them or hate them. I think they do take some getting used to because you do walk slightly differently in them.

Otherstories2002 · 08/04/2024 18:54

trainers are never dressy.

Sorry they look frumpy to me.

Noseyoldcow · 08/04/2024 19:00

Well, these are a blast from the past! I wore stuff like that circa 1972.
So on the basis of if you wore something when it was last in fashion, you're too old to wear it now, I'll be giving them a pass. Which to be honest, doesn't break my heart anyway....I'll stick to the granny shoes then.

Blinky21 · 09/04/2024 10:52

Slingbacks are currently really fashionable and much more elegant than the trainers

housethatbuiltme · 09/04/2024 13:08

Trainers do not say night out at all. Thought lots of clubs don't even let trainers in (of is that double standards for men and women lol).

I would go sandals, I have some very small wedge ones that are gold and glittery that are great for 'dressy but comfortable'.

PerfectTravelTote · 09/04/2024 14:52

With a black wide leg jumpsuit, I think what you've chosen is perfect.
