Gold flats for night out

shoehelp · 07/04/2024 21:51

Going to a 40th at a bar in London in a couple of weeks.

I think it'll be dressy but not too dressy, and I'm planning to wear a black wide leg jumpsuit with gold hoops but I'm stuck on shoes - I definitely want flats, don't do heels any more.

Thinking I want some a bit like this but not sure if they'd be right? Any other ideas?

Sorry to jump on your thread OP but I'm after some gold/metallic chunky sandals if anyone has seen any nice ones!

On the flip flops, I have some silver ones, which are great, but they don’t seem to do them in gold. They do an Amazon version, but I don’t know if I’d buy shoes from Amazon. Might give you an idea of a style to look for though.

Gold or silver trainers are definitely a no for me!

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain I absolutely love the Oliver Bonas ones you linked. Beautiful.

The gold Oliva Bonas ones are beautiful

JoJothegerbil · 09/04/2024 20:25

I really want these from Oliver Bonas

They're Esska and are indeed beautiful, thanks! I do have some other silver and a sort of blue-silver Esska shoes. Amazingly comfy and stunning at the same time.

And I bought some metallic green shoes from them recently too. Oops!

These are silver but I saw them in Oliver Bonas and had to restrain myself from buying them right then and there! I might go back on payday…

Stop it! I don't need them but I think I want them... hides debit/credit cards

Does anyone find or is it me, that if you wear slingbacks you have to get a really good fit for them to fit well? And you can't really wear them with tights (so nude/American tan tights and only bare legs in my experience.

I bought some shoes from Amazon recently, they were exactly the same brand as on Debenhams website, cheaper and free P&P. Also had free returns if they didn’t fit or you didn’t like them. So worth considering.

I’m a big esska fan (so comfy!) just bought the OB gold ones so thank you to whoever shared them

Not gold but I’ve been eyeing these up. Any opinions worried that they are actually ugly. Any experience of Zara shoes they probably are terrible for wide feet?

Personally I'd go a bit dressier than trainers but obviously it's whatever you prefer! I like these: https://www.parfois.com/en/gb/shoes/flat-shoes/leather-slingback-ballerinas/218496_GD36.html

Love these!

Trainers do not say night out at all. Thought lots of clubs don't even let trainers in (of is that double standards for men and women lol).

I would go sandals, I have some very small wedge ones that are gold and glittery that are great for 'dressy but comfortable'.

In London, everyone wears trainers on nights out at the moment. It'd have to be a very expensive hotel bar like place to stop you coming in with trainers.

Snoodleberry · 10/04/2024 08:17

Wow the Esska brand is amazing, never seen them before. @Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday @Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain are they ok for narrow feet? (Appreciate you can’t comment for all shoes they make!)

I shared them! You’re welcome ☺️. They are so comfy and mean you can still be glam without breaking your neck and looking grannyish.

I have fairly narrow feet and they’re fine from my experience.

Zara shoes aren t bad. I think it’s a case of try before you buy. Not sure if quality will be great but they do do leather (which should mould to your foot better).

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 10/04/2024 09:14

Whenever I’ve ordered shoes or sandals from ASOS I’ve always sent them back as the quality wasn’t great.

LaRevolution · 10/04/2024 09:20

Just a warning re Esska - they're gorgeous but heavy! I have the Charlie in metallic onyx and whilst they're not uncomfortable, by the end of the night my ankles have ballooned a bit 😳😁

I have some very comfy block-heel gold sandals from Boden that I love though - Ido like a low block-heel metallic sandal that's just the right side of 80s to be frumpy, IYSWIM. Love the silver lattice-front OB ones upthread.
