Gold flats for night out

Going to a 40th at a bar in London in a couple of weeks.

I think it'll be dressy but not too dressy, and I'm planning to wear a black wide leg jumpsuit with gold hoops but I'm stuck on shoes - I definitely want flats, don't do heels any more.

Thinking I want some a bit like this but not sure if they'd be right? Any other ideas?

These are the Boden ones but out of stock now unfortunately - https://www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/block-heel-sandals-gold/sty-a1546-gol

I've had very comfy low block-heels from Next too.

I do like the OB flat slingback Mary-Janes linked to above as well though!

Not gold but I’ve been eyeing these up. Any opinions worried that they are actually ugly. Any experience of Zara shoes they probably are terrible for wide feet?

Love these

I haven't! But they are a dupe of an Oliver bonas pair that I coveted and missed in the sales. Open to any other posters reviews of Parfois though as there are a few things I like the look of!

@bravotango Parfois are great. I've bought a couple of bags and some jewellery from them. They have stores in Spain which is where I've bought from (Cadiz and Valencia) - I think they're akin to Accessorize IMO. I always make a beeline for them when abroad. I can't advise on the shoes however, although those gold flats are lovely.

Disagree with the posters saying not to wear trainers on a night out. Pretty much everyone wears them to bars where I live.

I have these from allsaints. They're absolutely not frumpy. I've worn them loads.

Oh this is good to hear. Thank you!

In London, everyone wears trainers on nights out at the moment. It'd have to be a very expensive hotel bar like place to stop you coming in with trainers.

I was going to say the same...15-25 year old girls especially seem to dress down for nights out. Like, really dress down in trainers, baggy jeans and a huge shirt.

So with a jumpsuit I think trainers would balance it out nicely. Maybe look for some with a non-white sole to blend in more with the black if you're worried it will look too casual. I like the ones you posted though, I have v similar from ASOS a few years ago.

I dont if it has been said but Sezane has really good gold shoes

Goodluckanddontfitup · 10/04/2024 22:26

The gold trainers will look great, as PP’s have said, smart trainers are very on trend for nights out, much more so than some of the flat sandals and slingbacks I have seen posted. Sorry but many of those just seem to be very expensive without looking anything special at all. The only other option that could look good would be the gold cowboy boots a PP posted, also very on trend.

Just a warning re Esska - they're gorgeous but heavy! I have the Charlie in metallic onyx and whilst they're not uncomfortable, by the end of the night my ankles have ballooned a bit 😳😁

I have some very comfy block-heel gold sandals from Boden that I love though - Ido like a low block-heel metallic sandal that's just the right side of 80s to be frumpy, IYSWIM. Love the silver lattice-front OB ones upthread.

I’ve never found Esska to be heavy myself.

The Next range of comfy shoes Forever Comfort is good I’ve got nice sparkly silver stilettos which I can walk in (I still take flats or trainers if on tube).

For me I’ve recently seen Shoreditch/Old Street and Soho girls out in metallic heels rather than trainers.

For me I like these shoes I mean I’d love designer ones like I had in my 20s/30s but I never found them as comfy as my high street ones, my LouBous are strictly car to venue shoes. And these ones for me are an investment, I’ve spent so much on uncomfortable shoes in the past so I’d rather spend more for comfier shoes.

Well thanks for the introduction to Parfois, I feel like it's going to be an expensive month this month....some stunning bags on there!

NeedWineNow · 11/04/2024 16:05

@bravotango and @anon2022anon You are very welcome - happy spending!

I love Spanish Italian etc bags and shoes, quality and range far better than over here! They don’t export much either! I’ll look at Parfois too.
