Casual trousers that aren't jeans!

I live in leggings or skinny jeans. I'm bored and need an alternative for spring/summer. What do you all wear day to day? School run etc?

Something looser. Current faves are wide cargo jeans and wide leg joggers.

Rainallnight · 26/03/2024 10:29

Corduroys

GR8GAL · 26/03/2024 10:35

Linen trousers in the summer. Nice and cool.

I've started to dip my toe back into skirts, on cooler days I'll wear thick tights or leggings underneath.

Cuppachuchu · 26/03/2024 10:46

Yoga pants (like leggings but just looser) although I am a bit bored with them now and looking for alternatives. I've got some M&S chinos, but they aren't as comfy as no stretch in them.

mynameiscalypso · 26/03/2024 10:49

I tend to wear chino-type trousers in the summer.

DonnasShrugaleros · 26/03/2024 10:52

Uniqlo wide leg cords

concernedchild · 26/03/2024 10:52

Linen trousers or dresses to be honest

I like the idea of these! What shoes do you wear with them?

TheYoungestSibling · 26/03/2024 13:49

I've got linen-type tapered, straight and wider leg trousers in various colours. Some are elasticated at the waist, others have a fly and button.

Navy, beige, and white see me through most situations.

Thanks. I think I'll have to do some shopping. To echo a pp what shoe do you all wear. Trainers seem a bit too casual

I'm a fan of white trainers, I think if they're tidy they look fine!

DonnasShrugaleros · 26/03/2024 14:17

@mynameiscalypso either colourful trainers or white ones, maybe brogues or some loafers. Not great with boots tho, feels too 70's for me.

SallyWD · 26/03/2024 14:28

I wear linen trousers when it's warm. They're really fresh and comfortable. I feel more cool in them than having sun on my bare legs. They look nice too.

DGPP · 26/03/2024 15:00

Linen trousers in various styles with flip flops mostly

Josnie · 26/03/2024 15:16

Dungarees that do me no favours but are very comfy

mynameiscalypso · 26/03/2024 15:54

@DonnasShrugaleros I was hoping you were going to say trainers! Thank you!

Workawayxx · 26/03/2024 16:00

M&S cotton chino like trousers are nice.I have them in the pink and picked them up brand new on vinted. They look nice with trainers. As is often the case on M&S I think they look better irl than on the model (not that I'm model-eque!). https://www.marksandspencer.com/cotton-rich-tea-dyed-slim-fit-chinos/p/clp60587055?color=DARKSAGE&prevPage=srp#intid=pid_pg1pip48g4r1c3|prodflag_New

I wore cargo trousers last year. Comfy, cool and fit like jeans; I need to be held together a bit! Grin Superdry for example:-

Actually mine are a bit more fitted than those around the waist, like a traditional zipped jeans with belt hoops iyswim

useitorlose · 27/03/2024 02:51

I'm about to get some Mango trousers that they call joggers. They're supposedly cropped, but I'm too short for that to be the case on me.

yeah i have a pair of these in pinstripe, they're my summer go to :)

DeathMetalMum · 27/03/2024 07:56

Following. I've tried chinos and they're just not quite right for me. Last year I found some really nice cropped cargo trousers from F&F at tesco. I bought in black and khaki, however they are thick and too hot for a warm day. I've tried skirts and can't seem to style them, or juat feel frumpy. In the past I've had linen trousers that are OK.

Copperoliverbear · 27/03/2024 07:58

Linen trousers, live in them in the summer, nice and comfortable and cool and look nice xx
