I tried some and it wasn't very good imo. Too messy for one and it also felt like it was caked on even when I used very little. I could feel it so much more than normal makeup and that really put me off.

Bobbiewickham · 25/03/2008 14:29

Lily lolo. Not enough coverage for my ravaged skin and doesn't last.

ok as a powder over normal foundation, though.

Eyeshadows good but messy.

Bit over mineral makeup, tbh.

bobsyouruncle · 25/03/2008 14:30

I love lilylolo, quick & easy to apply, a little goes a long way and very natural looking coverage.

Cappuccino · 25/03/2008 14:31

bare escentuals

okay actually

JodieG1 · 25/03/2008 14:31

It was the lilylolo ones that I tried and I thought it looked far from natural, you could see it much more than my normal makeup.

LarryVeest · 25/03/2008 14:35

lilylolo foundation - starts of looking really good, but ends up looking a bit claggy after a few hours (I have a slightly oily T-zone)

lilylolo eyeshadow - lovely colours (esp the goldy shimmer ones) but they are quite messy to apply, and they do crease.

I have reverted to old-fashioned non-minerally make-up.

I think it depends how much coverage you need. I put very little on, but if you want more coverage & put lots on then I agree it would look cakey & crap. I used to use tinted moisturiser rather than foundation & I prefer a light dusting of lilylolo to that.

Also watching with interest....

Does your skin type matter? How is it with very dry skin, ie like mine?

SabaSaba · 25/03/2008 14:46

lily lolo is to powdery and matt, bare escentuals is v good, lasts well, good coverage, although I wouldnt recommend for a dry skin type as it does highlight dry areas - you need to keep skin well exfoliated & moisturised then it looks great, but this is probably true of any foundation. Only think the foundations are any good - eyeshadows although pretty are to messy and hard to control.

foofi · 25/03/2008 14:47

I've tried a few but the only one which has nearly enough coverage for my horrible skin is SheerCover - it's not available in the shops, mail order only. It's so easy to apply and lasts longer than liquid foundation imo.

wtf are mineral cosmetics?

anyone? please?

am out of loop on this one

MyChemicalToilet · 25/03/2008 14:54

I'm experimenting with Revlon's at the moment because I couldn't find any other easily available 'over the counter' ones. I like it. It doesn't sit in the pores and creases of my skin at the end of the day. Coverage is even and natural, so long as you have exfoliated. I need extra coverage/concealer for my badly raddled bits.

I agree it is messy, it seems to fly out of the pot - is it electrostatic or something?

bundle · 25/03/2008 14:55

naily i think they're ground up rocks.

but Special ones

have seen moggle having it applied and whoosh a few strokes of powdered rocks later any blemishes disappear.

oh and they're expensive

WanderingTrolley · 25/03/2008 14:55

Crap for pale, dry skin like mine...it nade me look like an overpowdered great aunt

(twas an Urban Decay one)

Back to a nice tinted moisturizer for me

Piffle · 25/03/2008 15:06

philosophy air brushed canvas is excellent
lily lolo fab. Love everything I've bought ESP the eyecolours.

bobsyouruncle · 25/03/2008 15:07

I know I'm not convincing anyone but I do think my skin is better from using it too.

brimfull · 25/03/2008 15:13

I've tried the bare escentuals one and I looked like one of those living silver statues you see in touristy places....awful

nailpolish · 25/03/2008 15:21
