@MotherofPearl

Gosh @BrightHarvestMoon, we don't all have to like the same things. There's no need to be so rude.

Gosh! I am entitled to an opinion. 😆 Why has this jarred you so much? Why are you so upset and salty, at the opinion of some random on the internet? How odd.

Confused
justasking111 · 29/02/2024 22:29

I've always worn nighties, knee length cotton or longer. I find them warm in winter and cool in summer. Short sleeved though.

Marks and Spencer these days.

TiredMum30 · 29/02/2024 22:31

I love that and I especially love the idea of wafting around in it like a ghost!

I do mainly wear nighties or long tshirts though, I can't stand wearing pj's the trousers run up my legs and I'm forever trying to push them back down again with my feet and i end up in a never ending cycle of being constantly annoyed all night.

hellsBells246 · 29/02/2024 22:36

£110???? 😱😱😱

No way.

Plus, they're impractical. They ride up. PJ trousers are the way to go.

PickleASturgeon · 29/02/2024 22:37

I love a white cotton nightie now. Find them so much more comfortable for those hot moments during the night - the hot flush kind of moments!!

Thinking about getting this one from Peacocks - pretty cheap to start with but now has 20% off just now.

strawberry12345 · 29/02/2024 22:45

How do people stop them riding up?

Midi length here, mine don't. Whereas pyjamas like thongs act like dental floss for me

mondaytosunday · 29/02/2024 23:06

I though you meant something more like this. Yours is very pretty but I would find the long sleeves annoying.

Does anyone wear proper old school nightdresses?

@SirVixofVixHall I can competely see you in it! Grin Wink

<whispers> red lego

Hahahaha . The Lego .. !

lifeisawillow3 · 29/02/2024 23:58

I have one like this but with no sleeves, most of my nightclothes are nighties. Dh says I'm like 80 not 27 🤣 they're so comfy

Nat6999 · 01/03/2024 00:00

I've got a brushed cotton nightshirt, I can't sleep in pj bottoms, they drive me crazy so I end up sleeping in just the top or the nightshirt.

paisley256 · 01/03/2024 00:05

sendismylife · 29/02/2024 20:23

I always used to wish for these in Past Times!

Yes me too.

I love that one from Next.

Ha! Love the wafting about like a victorian ghost @wildthingsinthenight 👻 🤣

SuperstarDeejay · 01/03/2024 00:11

I can't sleep in anything that isn't 100% fitted to my body but that nightie is very very cute for wafting about the house on a hot night. Tempted!

I do have some knee length slips in 100% linen which came from the same place as my bedlinen so are all matchy matchy, also useful as they double as sundresses.

paisley256 · 01/03/2024 00:20

Ooh I'm off to Google linen knee length slips, sounds so comfy.

VictorianGhostNightie · 01/03/2024 00:26

Yup. Grin

Love 'em. I've got 3 on rotation which you'd have to rip from my cold dead hands.

SuperstarDeejay · 01/03/2024 00:36

@paisley256 I buy them here, looks like they ship to the UK.

Fitzbillie · 01/03/2024 00:47

My 80something DM wears them! But she wafts around wearing them with an embroidered silk kimono dressing gown in the summer and a floral velvet dressing gown or cashmere bed jacket in the winter so she is not an unglamorous woman! 😂

Dayamondi · 01/03/2024 06:04

Linen can be quite crunchy and scratchy though

The stuff I linked to isn't, it's deliciously soft, especially once you put it on and it warms up. And it gets better with age. I agree the cheap stuff doesn't feel great.

StarlightLady · 01/03/2024 08:09

They look nice but impractical. l can’t stand wearing anything to bed. Regardless of the time of year, l’ve slept naked since l was about 14. The only exceptions are during a heavy period when I’ll wear knix, or if I’m sharing a bed with someone in a non-sexual way, when l might wear a tee. Even that ends up round my neck.

Ooh lovely thank you very much.

mitogoshi · 01/03/2024 08:48

Not to sleep in but I have something similar to put on in warmer weather around the house on weekend mornings when it's too warm for a dressing gown

QueSyrahSyrah · 01/03/2024 08:54

The one the OP shared is gorgeous but would be tucked up round my armpits after an hour. I wear PJ shorts (currently Superdry ones with button waist, undone to accommodate 6 month bump) and any old tshirt / vest. I also have white company brushed cotton full PJs but I wear them for lounging as they're too hot for sleep.

No need, from your name you'll want to be buried in one.Grin

I like the look of them but in reality wear lands end short length jersey ones which are imo the ideal compromise between trad nightie and oversized T. Or PJs if it's really cold or I might need to venture outdoors eg boating holidays.

WeeOrcadian · 01/03/2024 09:03

I only wear one when I want to emulate Jennifer Love-Hewitt, albeit with an extra few stones

Or a ghost
