Quick poll, I'm going out tonight, do I go for elegance and style or warmth and dryness?

Given that it's freezing and pissing it down.

I want to wear my waterproof ski jacket, but part of me thinks I should wear my smart coat and risk looking like a drowned rat by the end of the evening.

Which one should I wear? I'm not taking an umbrella.

You would rather go out in a waterproff than carry an unbrella, why's that?

Coz I don't want to be carrying an umbrella around. I don't have a little dinky one, only a big one that doesn't fold down.

Besides, if I get too pissed I may forget the umbrella, but I won't forget the jacket...

I'd feel a fool in a big waterproof jacket but i'm still young enough to care what people think i guess. I hate getting cold and wet too when I was in this situation last weekend I wore a jumper and much to my friend's disgust i tied it round my waist when I got too hot (she tried to convince me to put it in the cloakroom but i was too tight to pay £2) still got a few blokes giving me the eye though so can't have looked too bad (i turned them down though like any self repecting lady with a dp would do)

Stop at a petrol station, buy a nasty little foldy-uppy brolly. Use it and then slip it into its little condom & into your handbag before you enter the bar. Thus you are dry, no-one sees it, you cannot forget it.
