Quick poll, I'm going out tonight, do I go for elegance and style or warmth and dryness?

Given that it's freezing and pissing it down.

I want to wear my waterproof ski jacket, but part of me thinks I should wear my smart coat and risk looking like a drowned rat by the end of the evening.

Which one should I wear? I'm not taking an umbrella.

Ok, good plan, I will stop by saisbos and buy cheap condom-type umbrella and wear elegant grown-up coat!

princessmel · 20/03/2008 20:02

Cos it gives you an extra sausage round your waist. plus it makes you look like your 13.

windy, I live in town, the taxi drivers would go about me getting one to go a five minute walk up the street!

You could be super classy and hold a carrier bag over your head which you bin when you get to the pub/bar door.

even classier princess I could nick a carrier bag off one of the seat of the bikes parked along my street. Carrier bags are THE IN accesory for bikes this season.

princessmel · 20/03/2008 20:06

Ok cardi is bad. I'm just trying to type quick and losing my style guru status .

OverMyDeadBody · 20/03/2008 20:07

No, nice small shrugs/cardis don't keep my warm.

I was thinking more of some kind of zip-up thermal windproof sporty layer? No one would see it, I'd wip it off as soon as I got to bar? (please?)

Oh warmth , thats fine. Well a coat or jacket. Why does it have to be sport inspired?

Have you not got a black coat? That you can walk up in, then put in cloakroom or on back of chair?

OverMyDeadBody · 20/03/2008 20:13

I have a grey one.

I know, I'll get really drunk and then won't feel the cold anyway.

Cheers you lot for yer input! Have to go get my slap on now.
