I don't think the VB eyeliner is that special

Have I really missed the point? I was excited to use it - got the ash grey - and it's... a perfectly fine, standard eye pencil with nothing at all to write home about. In fact, I think it blunts and smudges a bit too much - it doesn't 'hold' the sleek eyeline I start with so I have to smudge.

Should I be doing something specific to get the benefit or it that it?

Oh, I love this brand! I've always been useless at applying eyeliner but I can get the VB one on no bother and it stays put on my 50-something skin. It's the holy grail of eyeliner for me. I get compliments on it too, and believe me that's unheard of. For me it might be expensive but it's worth it.

Omg agree! I bought four for the colours and by lunchtime there’s nothing left. Massive disappointment

Glad to know it's not worth it...btw the classic tip of putting it in the freezer before sharpening really works if that helps people

I saw Sali Hughes use it and say leave it for a minute to set it. I did and it still smudged. I won’t be buying it again.

So I’m suspicious of VB eyeliner…last year I bought my first one in that olive green colour and I adored it…just the perfect eyeliner…great staying power and didn’t find it smudged. Once I’d finished that, I ordered the cocoa brown one…and it’s just meh….just a normal eyeliner…a bit too smudgy and transfers too much. A bit whatever. I’m not sure if they changed the quality in the intervening time or whether there is a difference between colours but I’m reluctant to buy the olive green one again given it could be an expensive mistake.

I love mine vb eyeliner, I have in bronze and smudge with the end tool. I find it lasts ages and doesn't move. Maybe colours apply differently. It's a metallic

I thought it was just me… I got sucked in by the hype (and a friend who said they were great) and bought two on Black Friday. I’m not the best with eyeliner so prefer a smudgy one so you can’t see if it isn’t straight but this just smudges everywhere and definitely doesn’t stay on all day…

Avon glimmersticks all the way - I saw the through the marketing and I'm so glad I did! I mean, buying it isn't going to give me those beautiful 20 something cat-like eyes like the model in the ads, is it!

Agree! Treated myself to an eyeliner plus a lipstick/lipliner for my SIL’s wedding. The lip combo is great but I am so disappointed with the eyeliner! It’s so messy and smudgy and doesn’t last!

I bought one of the eyeliners and I agree - nice, fine, will use it all but won't be buying another. Also bought a lip gloss and a lipstick - they're v nice to use and the packaging is exquisite, but I don't think they justify the eye watering prices

I watch videos of VB putting her “satin kajal eyeliner” on, because her accent makes me laugh, particularly when she says “kajal”.There’s one where she says “literally” twice in succession which tickles me aswell.
live got the brown eye liner. My daughter can apply it to me , no problem, but when k do it it goes on like crayon. I find it helps to,dab some in a tiny brush and use it that way.

I really like the one I have (smoky grey one) and plan to buy more when im not so impoverished. I didn't need practice to get it right 🤔 I actually find it easier to get looking good than other eyeliners I've tried, as the smudging tool allows me to even things out.

I do have very dry skin - maybe that's the reason? I can imagine it might smear if you're oilier, as it's so blendable.

I do feel a lot of Charlotte tilbury stuff doesn't live up to the hype though. Some stuff is good, but others feel like much cheaper products in luxe packaging.

@custardlover initially I just used it as a normal liner and tried to smudge but it looked like I'd been punched. I now do it slowly and in sections putting less on. It's all in the smudge.

Just a heads up if you don't like these you probably won't like the Lisa eldridge liners either

And I do heat it up, either on back of hand or hair dryer.
The VB contour stick is amazing.

@bluechicky , they are very similar. The Lisa Eldridge ones are a few quid cheaper, but still bloody pricey!

Ooh these were on my to buy list next month but I shan't bother now! Off to look at the Avon Glimmerstick...
