Do FitFlops give the arse and legs of a moggle?

Does anyone have FitFlops? They are meant to do the same job as MBTs but are less ugly. Can anyone confirm effectiveness???

I tried them before I got my mbt's.
They were useless, didn't fit properly, didn't hold the foot in snug enough, so I sent them back.
I since bought a pair of mbt's and they are just a trillion percent better, no comparison and boy do they work your bum and legs.
Fitflops were cheap and tacky imo.
You get what you pay for
Rant over

Innaresting.

I'm not so bothered about the price but the look, I can't stand MBTs and am looking at a summer off work when I won't have to wear "proper" shoes all the time.

When you say boy do they work do you mean you feel the muscles in bum and legs "used" after wearing them?

yes you do. Mbt lover here too. You can try the earth shoe. Chung Sui shoe for some other styles. Dunno how mbts are going to coordinate with summer clothes though...

No19 · 19/03/2008 06:47

Hmm maybe this as a sort of everyday flipflop?

BoysOnToast · 19/03/2008 07:04

well i have mbts and cant say i notice them 'working' me. most disappointing.

still, maybe they are working me and id look a right blob if i didnt wear them... never know.

explain MBTs please ..

No19 · 19/03/2008 07:27

Something to do with rolly soles making you walk like a Masai when wearing them & toning all over even when STANDING STILL.

People swear by them but they are vilely hidjus so am looking for summer alternative for mat. leave in order to effect Total Body Transformation or at least from arse down.

Twiglett · 19/03/2008 07:32

ahhh .... and people believe this

No19 · 19/03/2008 07:34

Twiglett, there are photos to PROVE it littering the web, all QED! AND it was in Grazia magazine so there.

My bum and legs are the most toned they have been for years.
I know what you mean about the look of the mbt's. I found them strange at first but have got used to them. I've got the trainer type shoes but will def get a pair of sandals for the summer. I also have a pair of chung shi's (sp?) but I prefer the mbt's.

Twiglet they have a rounded sole in the middle so when you walk you push into your heal and walk over the rounded bit to your toes. It forces the bum to clench everytime you take a step. And whilst standing still you have to keep balancing. I actually don't notice the balancing at all so it's not a drag. People have often commented on the shoes and have said that I seem to be balancing whilst standing still!

It's a slow breakfast shift on MN when my FitFlop thread gets 14 posts. Even I am looking round at active convos for alternatives!

OP posts:
Twiglett · 19/03/2008 07:38

anything published and the genetic make-up of the Masai tribe then? oh no I forgot Grazia isn't really into interesting stuff is it

What about their nomadic existence and tribal customs? too David Attenborough

No19 · 19/03/2008 07:39

kittywise even the sandals I can't get my head around, style-wise.

OMG MBT stands for Masai Barefoot Technology

No19 · 19/03/2008 07:43

Where have you BEEN?? Keep up. They were news about 3 years ago and all the snorting and Attenborough-isms happened then.

OP posts:
Twiglett · 19/03/2008 07:44

I am kept in a darkened cupboard though

No19 · 19/03/2008 07:45

Well your arse must be a sorry wobbler then and I can only advise the more stylish alternative of a FitFlop which will quickly make your gluteus maximus a bit more minimus.

OP posts:
No19 · 19/03/2008 07:47

I'm preggers, hanaflower, I don't think it will make any difference if I am wearing the flip-flop with the gym BUILT IN.
