Regret over 1k Chanel shoes too small :(

pregahes · 25/12/2023 10:41

I bought some Chanel shoes and in the shop they felt perfect but since wearing I don't know if my feet have grown but my toes slightly touch the front and it makes me not want to reach for them anymore.

They're loafers without laces so I am in two minds if the bigger size would have even fit better as maybe there would have been slippage.

They don't feel uncomfortable massively there could be more tow box room but I have narrow feet.

I have just been reading up on Google says there should be half inch between your foot and end of shoe and when that happens shoes generally slip.

Any solutions? Am I mad to try and find a bigger size and sell the ones I have?

I take it you wore them outside?

I would say try to resell and go try the size up

rochenutty · 25/12/2023 10:45

how often do you wear them?

pregahes · 25/12/2023 10:45

@Lifeasiknowitisout yes I have worn them outside :(

I don't even know if they still have the colour combo I have I'd have to call a few stores and probably travel a fair bit

@rochenutty at the moment probably once a month, I'd probably wear them more if I didn't feel sad about them

It's like when I wear them while they're not uncomfortable they're a reminder of the mistake I made!

Bring them to a good cobbler and get them stretched a little.

pregahes · 25/12/2023 10:47

I may even try the bigger size and go no way glad I bought my size as I really do think bigger could be slippy which is the worst thing in loafers but I feel as because I didn't even ask to try the bigger size it would have just given me peace of mind to have tried them

pregahes · 25/12/2023 10:48

@Nousernamesleftatall have you or has anyone ever had shoes stretched before?

How much do they stretch by? Would timpsons be good or somewhere more upmarket?

how long have you had them?

pregahes · 25/12/2023 10:50

@rochenutty about five months

i would just suck up the discomfort given the infrequent wear

Moanycowbag · 25/12/2023 11:00

Buy some shoe stretch spray, put on a thickish pair of socks spay the shoe spray all over the toes of socks ram feet into shoes and wear around the house for several hours until the spray dries and it should just give you a little more room in the toes area.

Thekormachameleon · 25/12/2023 11:01

Take them to a cobbler and get them stretched
I did this recently with a pair of boots as my normal size was too tight but the next size up was too big

Paid £10 and they now fit perfectly

pregahes · 25/12/2023 11:10

@Thekormachameleon brilliant I may try this - was it a mainstream cobbler like Timpson?

OP posts:
Thekormachameleon · 25/12/2023 11:11

Yes it was Timpsons

Topee · 25/12/2023 11:12

They’ll give and you can speed this up by having them stretched as mentioned. I would always go for a slighter tighter fit in loafers because of this.

Autumnleavefall · 25/12/2023 11:12

I agree with a cobbler, it's definitely worth a go. If you find a decent one they'll be able to tell you if it's something they can do or not.

Namealreadyinuse1 · 25/12/2023 11:13

Timpsons will put them on the stretcher & they stretch by half a size. It’s about £5 memory

irisgg7 · 25/12/2023 11:15

I have wooden shoe stretchers. sorted my shoes which became too tight after a baby.
intrigued by the spray.

pregahes · 25/12/2023 11:15

@Topee maybe the ones I have are right then and just need a slight stretch of a few mm.

Although the wire not leather they're a canvas type material which probably doesn't help

Mirrormeback · 25/12/2023 11:17

Leather shoes stretch over time so just wear them around the house

pregahes · 25/12/2023 11:19

@Mirrormeback they're not leather that's the problem! They're canvas type

OP posts:
pregahes · 25/12/2023 11:19

@irisgg7 did you use spray too?

OP posts:
irisgg7 · 25/12/2023 11:20

Canvas shoes will stretch OP. But that a lot of money for a shoe which isn't leather 😳

irisgg7 · 25/12/2023 11:20

No I didn't use a spay, didn't know their was such a thing TBH.

Stretch spray. That sounds genius!
