Regret over 1k Chanel shoes too small :(

pregahes · 25/12/2023 10:41

I bought some Chanel shoes and in the shop they felt perfect but since wearing I don't know if my feet have grown but my toes slightly touch the front and it makes me not want to reach for them anymore.

They're loafers without laces so I am in two minds if the bigger size would have even fit better as maybe there would have been slippage.

They don't feel uncomfortable massively there could be more tow box room but I have narrow feet.

I have just been reading up on Google says there should be half inch between your foot and end of shoe and when that happens shoes generally slip.

Any solutions? Am I mad to try and find a bigger size and sell the ones I have?

The next size up will be too big and yes , your feet will slip about .

As you win't get to a cobbler in the next couple of days , try the old tried'n'trusted scrunched up newspaper . You might have some to hand , worth a try ?

I have awesomely narrow hypermobile feet and loafers just don't suit them .

@irisgg7 😂 I know hindsight it was a stupid purchase

😂 I could show you all my LK Bennet shoes! very uncomfortable and not even well made!

Well, call me a cynical bitch, but I thought this post was a joke. "My diamond shoes are too small."

Honestly, I think if you've paid a grand for a pair of canvas loafers, you are literally the definition of someone with more money than sense!

Hopefully you can get them stretched out so it's not a complete waste of a thousand pounds.

Ohchristmastree23 · 25/12/2023 11:36

Your diamond shoes are too tight? 😂

Could you rephrase that? I don't understand your question.

Neighbours87 · 25/12/2023 11:40

I’ve had shoes stretched in timpspns before and was happy enough. However, Aldo would have been the fanciest shoes

C1N1C · 25/12/2023 11:41

If it helps, my head rubs on the roof of my Bugatti Veyron...

Scalottia · 25/12/2023 11:43

1k for shoes...good lord why?

Not jealous, could afford it myself, but you know the saying - a fool and their money...

However, they should stretch over time OP, hopefully you haven't wasted your money.

Wallywobbles · 25/12/2023 11:47

Because the S&B board doesn't generally do cynical or bitchy. Sorry if that sounds harsh.

Because its a section of the site where people ask about or talk about style and beauty, so some people will ask about Chanel shoes and others (probably like me) will ask about M&S or Primark

But ultimately, its a section where theres no need for sniping or snidy comments or accusing people of making things up.

I like another pp have bought wooden shoe shapers and stuffed them into new shoes. Saves me having to wear them in.

Okay, that's fine, but... 1k shoes? You have to expect a little bit of push back, surely?

I like S&B as much as the next person, but you've got to expect a little bit of gentle ribbing if this is the worst problem you've got today!

ANightmareBeforeChristmas · 25/12/2023 12:04

Try wooden shoe-stretchers.

Push back?

What on earth?

Having a go at someone because they've bought something you wouldnt buy?

Do you 'push back' on all the property threads if someone is buying a house you cant afford?

irisgg7 · 25/12/2023 12:08

Plus OP has acknowledged it wasn't her most considered purchase, We all make mistakes.

Ah I see I've come across more critically than I wanted. It was more a sort of verbal rolling of my eyes. Have you not heard the joke about "diamond shoes too tight"?

I'm not trying to cause offence. I'm very happy for OP that she can afford expensive shoes. I'm happy for someone who can afford an expensive house too, although I might roll my eyes a bit if someone complained that it took them a long time to walk from their kitchen to their living room because their house was so massive.

My intention is not to be horrible and clearly my comment came across more harshly than it was intended. So please, everyone, accept my apology, and have a great Christmas.

Birdcar · 25/12/2023 12:17

Sell them.

If they were leather I think they might stretch but I wouldn't try it with anything other than leather.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 25/12/2023 12:21

My toe touches the end of all my shoes. Just a light touch, not a squeeze. The size up flops around. To me, that's normal and comfy.

pregahes · 25/12/2023 13:01

@OneRingToRuleThemAll do you have narrow feet?

Sounds like you need a half size

PortiaWithNoBreaks · 25/12/2023 13:57

You could try using newspaper. Take a few sheets and dampen it with water then scrunch it into the toes. Really pack it in. The idea is as the newspaper dries it expands.

or dampen the canvas then put shoe trees in
