Need a cheaper alternative to this toast jumper

Donegal wool jumpers aren't cheap. The style with the yoke pattern is popular. I'd either get the knitting needles out or pay the full price.

That's a gorgeous jumper! Have a look at Harley of Scotland. The shop Retro Star are selling some of their fair isle cheaply at the moment.

Gorgeous jumper! Carrier Company have some nice lambswool jumpers with similar yoke pattern for £120, but I'd be tempted to pray for a bit of Toast sale luck.

Today I'm wearing a gorgeous Toast fair isle wool jumper that I bought for £85 in a summer sale. Waiting for a sale is a gamble of course!
On the other hand I bought a Donegal cashmere wool mix jumper from Toast this year at full price. It was very very expensive😱, blew my winter clothes budget almost in one go! But it's so gorgeous, I've worn it so much and will wear it for years to come, so I'm okay with having paid full price for it.
They usually have a really decent sale that starts just before Christmas and goes on until the end of January. You might get lucky!

Keep an eye on their sales, I don't think it will be in their next sale but I always pick up jumpers in their sales for a lot less.

It's being sold for €295 to Irish shoppers so £195 is a bargain

You won’t like anything else as much: the shape with the loose bottom, the colour flecks in the grey etc: JFDI.

Honestly, I'd just buy it on Klarna over 3 months, lessen the pain a bit. Cheap knitwear never lasts anyway and nothing is going to compare when you have fallen in love with that one.

@chalkyc2 , if you are anything like me, the OP jumper is 'the one', and the others will be the 'make-do'. If you get a make-do one, it will always be second best.

Donegal wool is very expensive. This sweater would be challenging to knit. If you buy anything else, you may like it, but you won't love it. Donegal wool is very hard-wearing, hardly ever needs washing, and will last for ever. it is also quite itchy.

i bought a whitestuff jumper last year and its very good quality - much better than the celtic ones i looked at.

@sensationalsally , I don't think is is 'very expensive' but it's certainly not cheap. The pattern could be copied, but would take a while to knit, and the pattern is only one other colour. A plain fleck jumper in chunky wool shouldn't take long.

I love the donegal wool, but I don't seem to find many jumpers for women.
This one is a man's jumper Mens Donegal Crew - House of Bruar and is probably the cheapest wool one I've seen.

@chalkyc2 I like my jumpers a little bit roomy(but not too much 🤣). I have a size L and I would probably be an M&S 12-14.
