I am older I look older and it’s ok

I am 61. Was bought up to think looks were very important. Struggled greatly with growing old. Now finally accepting it is what it is. By comparison with the alternative it’s fine.
This is what 61 looks like. Many of my friends look their own version of this and do you know what? It’s ok. I can look at younger women and admire their beauty.

Could you tell us if either of you are on some type of HRT and did it help in any way with ageing

You're both beautiful, imo growing old gracefully is far better than plastic botox! I'm in my late 30s & so scared about getting even older. You both make me feel better, because it should be celebrated. Society gives women such a hard time for aging, yet men get more attractive! It is all wrong.

I also think your beauty shines from within aswell & is seen in your confidence.

@BlueGrey1 i am on HRT. Not for looks but because of health benefits. My mums joints had deteriorated to the point she was in a wheel chair by my age so GP is very pro it for me.

That is definitely a way I like to look at it too. There are so many people that don't get the opportunity to grow old. I feel so selfish when I get upset about it, and I admittedly do if I'm being completely honest.

I really need to start looking into HRT and get on it

People get more beautiful as they age. You see their essence as a human. Some people are not ready to see the essence because they are insecure so they judge.

Skin tells a story, it's a map of our lives, it's beautiful.

I'm not on HRT, it's not routinely prescribed in Portugal. Until (very) recently I was on 20 cigarettes a day, still on lots of sun and red wine 😁
