Or will you start opening in November?

Either way, it's not long now......time to make your choice (s).

Look Fantastic are offering g an extra 22% off the MAC Frosted Frenzy calendar, reducing it to £133 if anyone is holding out.

Code is SAVE22

Couperi · 15/11/2023 20:28

Liberty jewellery AC looks to have £100 off. And a bargain £10 off main calendar for BD members. 🙄

Dee1224 · 15/11/2023 21:00

Ooh yes, I also fell for the M&S night cream, which was in an a/c once and have repurchased- using it right this minute!

PomRuns · 15/11/2023 21:04

@SoloCat interested in your Champo opinion.
may hair is definitely thinner and breaks more easily. So looking for a new hair care regime.

I love Sunday Riley and Votary which have both been AC discoveries. Think all the products I've had from both of those brands have been good, although I need to use Good Genes sparingly.

I loved the Venn cream in Liberty a few years ago but it felt too pricey to repeat buy.

I'm jealous of the Diptyque calendar @SwordBilledHummingbird . I'm considering buying their discovery set in lieu of a calendar.

I loved the Venn cream too! Liberty don't stock it now. I've resorted to scooping them up from EBay and Vinted.

Davines hair care from Liberty ACis one of my new favourites. I love the smell and how soft it makes my hair.

Giftwithpurchase · 15/11/2023 21:47

@Pinenu can I ask the name of the H&B oil you use as a primer? Sounds just what I'm after - I used to use the Pixi oils but they are hard to find now and my face feels so dry with foundation if I just use moisturiser

My best finds include Farmacy Green clean and Emma Hardie moringa balm which are now staples. But my most fave is Sunday Riley Ice moisturiser which I have a horrible feeling is being discontinued, love that stuff

.. also sol de janerio lip balm is gorgeous

Branster · 15/11/2023 21:50

Snap at Venn cream!
I started Beauty Drop with the view of saving towards Liberty AC. Halfway through my savings experiment, Venn cream was on sale at Liberty. using my accumulated credit on the sale price, I only had to pay £9 when I placed the order. I then promptly stopped Beauty Drop because, clearly, my original plan was not working.
I found a few small versions on eBay and bought at random times. I actually find the small tube lasts for ages and ages, I only use it AM.

CocoMascara · 15/11/2023 21:55

It looks like Anthropologie is sold out, thankfully- if it was reduced I probably would have bought it!
Would love the Diptyque but can’t justify it, so have just splashed out on their Xmas candles instead!

Jellycats4life · 15/11/2023 23:25

I agree that when it comes to AC repurchases, I can’t help but be drawn to M&S because they’re so affordable. Thank you to whoever reminded me of the Formula ultimate sleep cream because that was amazing and I’d forgotten all about it.

But the most sadly missed is the Formula radiance reveal peel which is hands down the best exfoliator I’ve EVER used. Why did they discontinue it 😭

piddocktrumperiness · 15/11/2023 07:54

Genuine question as I am unsure what to get- never bought one for myself but I would like to treat myself next year to a nice one.

What do you do with all the products? Do you use them all? I worry about clutter. Say I get a hand lotion tube which is great then 4 days later I get another one, when I still haven't finished the first one- do you find you use all the products or do you end up with a lot of 'meh' clutter.

I sort through all the products and separate them out. I have 2 big drawers and in 1 drawer I put everything that I want to keep for myself and think I will use, and in the other I put things that I think will make great presents for all of the ladies in my life. Between my family, friends and the ladies in my husbands family that's quite a lot of gifts we no longer have to buy because I have enough stuff to make them all little beauty boxes when it's their birthday/Xmas and they all seem to love them. Anything that I think I won't use and also couldn't see myself gifting I donate straight away/ I'd hate to see them sat in a drawer until they eventually go bad.

Champo products…I’ve purchased a lot of things from them since I tried the Pitta shampoo and conditioner in last years Harrods.
I know it’s a contentious pick but I do really love the BS foam cleanser, although can’t remember if it was AC or Beauty box that I first tried it. It doesn’t sting my eyes at all and just feels quite soft to use, smells really lovely too.
I really love Sunday Riley Good Genes…think that was a Liberty AC many moons ago.

Edited

I’m using Champo products at the moment. I think my hair is in worse condition . It’s dry and lifeless and my hair actually looks thinner. So interesting that you like them.

pinkchampagne1 · 16/11/2023 07:54

I see the Debenhams calendar is reduced further to £61.20 with code AFFADVENT
Bodyshop also have 25% off their advent calendars now.

Pinenu · 16/11/2023 07:57

@Giftwithpurchase it’s the abyssinian oil. I don’t even need a moisturiser when wearing it whereas before I was layering creams and still looking dry, plus my foundation would slip. I love it so much I always keep several emergency bottles in case of discontinuation/apocalypse etc.

RazorstormUnicorn · 16/11/2023 09:13

I deliberately started buying the AC in order to help me find products and so I have found a few holy grails (for me).

An Aveda hair cream (poss leave in conditioner). Lumene vit C day moisturiser and the M&S sleep formula for night. Tried loads of shampoo/conditioner and realised Lush I started with works best for me. Found a great primer at M&S but that's no longer available so need a new one.

I did also like the Eyeko mascara a few people mentioned but I have an hourglass one that is even better but I paid full price for that from space NK!!

I really loved the Pitta volumising shampoo and conditioner, but I do get oily roots so bought the Kapha set. Then because I have highlights and my hair is naturally wavy it tends to go frizzy..I tried the Vata. I’m natural gold dark blonde fine hair, but lots of it. Products can weigh it down and I also get build up easily.
I find that you can swap them around depending on your hairs needs, say Kapha shampoo, followed by Vata.
I also use their scalp oil, but only generally after washing, before blow drying.
I am just post menopausal so my hair has changed so much. It used to be like a heavy silk curtain..swishy, now it’s lost that and gets really tangled easily…thinner and breaks more easily.
They recommend one wash from the shampoo, but I still do two….never feels clean at just one.
I bought the travel ones to start with..the Pitta came in my AC.
I do switch around to other shampoos and conditioners, but they are now a permanent fixture in my routine.
I bought the comb and head massager..I would say do not buy the comb, it’s just a bit rubbish. I don’t use the massager either…started to use my Mason Pearson brush to help stimulate my scalp too.
I’m never going to get my hair back the way it was but it’s just managing how it is now. The Pitta is great for when I’m going out, as it gives volume without weighing it down.

Apologies for the War and Peace version 😁

Has anyone discovered any holy grail items from advent calendars over the years?

Lots! But already some of the holy grail items people have listed are things I don't get on with, so just goes to show how different we all are. Mine are Living Proof dry shampoo, Coco and Eve hair mask, Alpha H Liquid Gold, M&S Formula night cream, Eyeko liquid eyeliner, and Biossance squalane and rose oil. Bioeffect EGF serum would be one but it's just not affordable for me. Interestingly most of my other holy grails were in lower priced calendars like ASOS and M&S! Considering I love a luxury calendar that is unexpected.

Ah yes…the Bioeffect serum is a HG product of mine too.

QueefofSheena · 16/11/2023 09:34

HG products for me have been the EGF serum, Sarah Chapman morning facial and a vitamin C night cream from the Debenhams AC that I haven’t been using long but will definitely repurchase. I can’t remember the name of it though. My make up HG is Mac Mehr lipstick

I tried the K19 everyone was raving about….it was awful, made my hair like straw and took ages to look like hair again!
I found them to be good on my hair…but I do mix it around to stop build up. I do use Kerastase products too, also Davines. Use Ouai detox periodically. I’ve never found one shampoo and conditioner that I can use infinitely. It’s more of a pic’n mix. 😊

Branster · 16/11/2023 10:05

@Jellycats4life I haven't used the M&S peel you mentioned, but this product is absolutely totally out of this world amazing, it's a treatment and it lasts for ages although it is pricey, I’ve never seen the small size in real life (super clean skin afterwards and no irritation, although it has a gritty texture to start with, is very important to me)

www.verdilabcosmetics.com/en/product/illuminating-micro-exfoliating-mask-trial/

Another super duper exfoliant, in liquid form this time, here. Very strong so use with caution, I order it for delivery when I go to USA to visit friends or if DH has a trip there I get it sent to his hotel. Again, not exactly cheap for the size, but you only need to use lightly so it lasts a long time. Standard Delivery takes a long time 7-10 days within USA but maybe they deliver to the UK?

LiB stopped their £25 off offer this week on Tiktok , I haven't checked on their actual website. They either have low stock or will pretend Black Friday offer is the £25 off or maybe they will offer a real out of this world reduction of 50% over the weekend.
I'll stop looking!

Was that what ended up getting referred to as Face Footner? That stuff was amazing! My chin has a tendency to get a little oily and congested but the rest of my face is quite dry. I used to use just a bit of this on my chin and it decongested it beautifully!

Twinsandsome · 16/11/2023 11:14

How do you all use the efg serum? Like where abouts in routine do you use? X

I use it after cleansing, no toner..only at night as I find it too heavy for day. I sometimes put a moisturiser on top to seal depending on how parched my skin feels.

applecatchers36 · 16/11/2023 11:34

My best finds from AC have been the Bobbi brown longwear stick cream eyeshadow and Bobbi brown neutral lipstick that I now buy both full size.

I also found that I liked the solid shampoo and conditioner from H&B, v handy for holidays.

BaconAndAvocado · 16/11/2023 12:00

applecatcher36
Which lipstick shade is your Bobbi Brown neutral?
I’m obsessed with lipsticks and glosses and haven’t really explored BB yet.

I’m looking forward to trying the BB eyeshadow stick which I think is in my Next AC.
