@Mirabai - do you honestly think the OP would be considering this dress if she were not already confident that it would suit her?

It’s available up to a size 16 - so I’m pretty certain the people who designed and made it expect women who are not ‘very slim’ to look just as beautiful in it.

I’m really bewildered by this apparent need to tell women that they’re not good enough to wear nice clothes and should retire to a hole in the ground and hide beneath a mouldy rug …

Italiangreyhound · 20/10/2023 19:03

It's beautiful, yes go for it if you can afford it.

No idea I’ve never met her.

The makers are clearly expecting to sell it to size 16, as it will make them money. Whether it would suit someone that size to their best advantage is a different matter.

Baffled by your last sentence as no-one has said anything of the sort.

Teddleshon · 20/10/2023 19:16

I love Zimmermann and have a wardrobe full of their clothes. Personally it’s a bit short for me but if you love it and can pull it off, go for it!

Sunsetred · 20/10/2023 19:24

It looks like a costume made by a parent for a school play.

Keurig · 20/10/2023 19:26

Well, the wine is flowing this evening but I still want to make an informed choice. However, it seems that the majority are in favour…

I understand the idea that I should wear the white one for the ceremony and this one for the evening but my partner really will jaw drop for this one so I’m thinking it’s best for the ceremony…

OP posts:
ActDottie · 20/10/2023 19:28

Your wedding day so most important thing is whether you like it

stayathomer · 20/10/2023 19:28

Love them both but just for me the one you have already is just stunning!!!

Rosiiee · 20/10/2023 19:29

Yes!!! A floor length veil, sunnies, heels 👌🏻👌🏻

Tempnamechng · 20/10/2023 19:29

It's bonkers but beautiful!

RoseMarigoldViolet · 20/10/2023 19:46

I like the Cynthia Rowley dress better.

PortalooSunset · 20/10/2023 19:53

I think it depends on context @Keurig.

But I'm minded of this quote from Charles in 4 Weddings and a funeral: "It is dangerous! You know, there's nothing more off-putting in a wedding than a priest with an enormous erection, yech!" Grin

No! Don’t be persuaded by the traditional mob. Please. Your plan is perfect. Absolutely the right way round. Double massive wows

Ssme92 · 20/10/2023 19:57

I absolutely adore that dress! Absolutely go for it. Perfect mix of bridal but unique! Wow!!!

FrustatedAgain · 20/10/2023 19:57

No because I am a size 20 with very short legs.
I would however admire anyone that could wear it and had the figure to pull it off. It would be an amazing non traditional wedding dress.

ImADevYo · 20/10/2023 20:01

Fabulous dress OP go for it!
And for that price at least you can wear it again unlike the majority of wedding dresses

porridgeisbae · 20/10/2023 20:12

It is short but you could wear a petticoat/skirt extender under it maybe? Or add a bit of net to the bottom?

Or just wear it if you like it. It is pretty.

nancypowers1983 · 20/10/2023 20:22

It's sort of nice and sort of not nice all at the same time for me. I can't make up my mind on it. I like the shape and the flowers, I dislike the dull nude slip it comes with and it seems a massive amount of money really for what it is. Personally I couldn't spend the best part of £3K on 2 outfits for just me, it just seems a waste of money that could be used for something else in the wedding or towards an amazing honeymoon or home improvements etc after the wedding. But it is of course up to you and if you have a spare £3K to fritter away on two outfits that is of course your prerogative to do so. I don't think the dress is too short at all, it's a lovely length.

Clingfilm · 20/10/2023 20:41

I love it, great for a non church wedding (but don't like the white one).

MillieVonPinkle · 20/10/2023 20:46

Sorry I think it's awful. It looks like a four year olds bridesmaids dress that's been stored in a room full of heavy smokers.

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 20/10/2023 20:52

I would, I love it.

I personally thought Effie had excellent style.

notanotherclairebear · 20/10/2023 20:52

I love love love both! I'd go white for the wedding with a veil from here www.etsy.com/uk/shop/KitAndTheBobbin her stuff is gorgeous and she was so amazing when I was buying one!

FabFitFifties · 20/10/2023 20:53

anybloodyname · 20/10/2023 16:22

Personally I'd swap them around and wear the white one for the wedding and the first one in the evening

I love both of them and if you have the figure to fit them .. go for it and enjoy every minute

Stunning

This, and don't bend over! Wear exceptionally lovely knickers.

I don't see a go fund me by OP. Has she asked for a contribution to buy the dress? Fritter away- how rude
