Nearly 50 and plus size quit like the look of T-shirt with blazer for a night out, but don't want to look daft

OP posts:

You're never too old.
That is all.

PlayingGrownUp · 01/09/2023 17:30

Never! Especially if you love the band - it’s such a great talking point

CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/09/2023 17:30

Never ever

Carsarelife · 01/09/2023 17:31

Not at all. I'm 51 wear band T a lot.

CMOTDibbler · 01/09/2023 17:31

As long as you actually know the bands music, never too old

BlueRidgeMountain · 01/09/2023 17:32

This lady’s not too old…

Band T-shirts when is too old?
Mamette · 01/09/2023 17:32

I would say never, I don’t think I’d wear one on a night out though.

Unless it was to a gig or a festival or a few casual drinks.

ThreeKneeRepeater · 01/09/2023 17:32

I’m much much older than you OP and I sometimes wear a band t shirt.
I don’t think I look daft.
Stop all this nonsense about being too old to wear whatever you want.

ShadowPuppets · 01/09/2023 17:34

My MIL is 71 and she wears a couple and looks fab, so I vote never.

AuroraForever · 01/09/2023 17:38

Never too old! Wear what you want, when you want, wherever you want! Band T with blazer will look amazing by the way.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/09/2023 17:46

I'm over 50. Wore a band t-shirt to a pub the other night and had a grand total of three very young, very serious young men tell me that they loved it. 😂

Niftythrifter · 01/09/2023 18:07

There is no age limit! Follow your style bliss!9

RancidOldHag · 01/09/2023 18:10

The Tshirt is too old when it's fallen into holes or the printing has worn off.

The person - no limits, except internalised ageism (which is something they might be better without, for this and for many other assumptions)

Riverlee · 01/09/2023 18:11

Never.

MujeresLibres · 01/09/2023 18:24

Never, if you're a genuine fan.

Riapia · 01/09/2023 18:28

Wear a band t shirt at any age.
with a blazer, you’re not serious?
😂😂😂😂

Avalovelace · 01/09/2023 18:29

I'm 53 and wear Suede/Pulp t shirts. Never too old.

petermaddog · 01/09/2023 18:55

66yrs here
wearing guns and roses tee from 1986

OldTinHat · 01/09/2023 19:00

My mate is 70, I'm 52. She always wears band t-shirts and got me one for my birthday because she felt sad I thought I was too old!

ZaZathecat · 01/09/2023 19:55

A lot of band t-shirts celebrate bands from the 1970s, so if anything you should be in you 60s to wear them! Maybe you're too young...

TheDogMama · 01/09/2023 20:04

I don’t think band T-shirt’s have an age limit.
I hate blazers though, I don’t think they look good on anyone.

ItsSoStimulatingBeingYourHat · 01/09/2023 20:05

My mum is 65 and wears band T-shirts (and looks brilliant!)

I’m 41 and wear them too, but only Def Leppard ones because I love them 😬

There is no upper age limit in my opinion.

DavinaTheDreadful · 01/09/2023 20:07

Never!

Yettisrus29 · 01/09/2023 21:40

Only if you actually like their music. As a Nirvana fan I was slightly horrified to see Primark selling Nirvana t-shirts! The thought of some fashionista putting a Nirvana t-shirt on just made me think how Kurt would be turning in his grave.

I had loads as a teenager but they've all been lost I'm various moves. Shame as they were from the 90s so all my Grunge bands(still have the gig tickets though)!

morelippy · 01/09/2023 21:42

I very much think you should wear them if you like them, never mind your age.

Personally I wouldn't wear one at any age, but this just shows it's down to choice
