A really killer jumpsuit for my 40th

Turning 40 shortly and having a big birthday party. I want to wear a really sharp jumpsuit/outfit for my party. Would love some ideas to broaden it out for a killer party outfit for the occasion. Any suggestions?

General outlines: my style is more androgynous/structural/dramatic. I rarely wear dresses. Nothing "pretty"; I'm way more likely to wear a waistcoat and wide-legged trousers than a floral dress. My hair is currently like the attached picture, although NB that's NOT me; I have dark hair and eyes. I'm short (5'2"), and wear a size 8 overall. Good arms/abs/shoulders which I'm happy to show off. Budget... aaargh... let's say £250? Basically, I want to look eyecatching and dramatic and edgily stylish. So, you know, no pressure. :)

I've got my own 40th birthday party coming up next week and have a peacock green velvet Nancy Mac jumpsuit on order - I'm a 12-14 so a completely different size to you but I hope it still looks ok.

This is my favourite so far! But does it come in regular as well as tall? Ironically, can't wear petite jumpsuits because all my shortness is in my legs and the body of petite jumpsuits is cut too short. But Tall fit will be too long in the body, I reckon.

You could wear it with patent bra, belt, massive heels or chunky boots with a coloured sole.

I'm turning 40 soon, but I'm 5ft 9 and size 18 with a long torso, so something like this would split my difference, but I would love to wear it :)

So many gorgeous items on here, but I think it's between rainbow sequins and red TopShop. The cut of the red one is amazing, and the rainbow sequins are a whole lotta party but I'm nervous about the fit on the bust and sequins will be a pain to alter. And both leave a little room in the budget for alterations and accessorising!

I love the dramatic and sculptural elements of the Coast bow dress but it would be too much work to alter. The Nancy Mac velvet ones are also gorgeous - I like the gold velvet - but I'm looking for something that says "party" a little more loudly.

Heya! Try peachy den they can gorgeous velvet jumpsuits and other stuff. My pal wore the pink one for her birthday and looked like an edgy Dolly Parton. Definitely if you want something a bit more cooler as most of the posts have been quite normal and very girly to me xxx
