Dress for the large of tummy - wedding guest

Hi I am a wedding guest at a fancy wedding.
I used to like tea dress style dresses and things with waist ties. However 5 years on from my last wedding and I'm now large of tummy and these feel uncomfortable. Can you help. Extra points if its navy blue or black with a print. Preferably maxi but midi would do. Have F boobs - I like a v neck.

This - John Lewis is what I've tried and is the style I used to adore. But I find the waist bit just sits around my tummy now and makes me feel uncomfortable and I don't think it's flattering. That asks one looks like the tie is higher up under the bust so that might be a good thing for me to look at thank you.

This type of cut and waist will be super flatting, my DSis is an 18 and looks absolutely stunning in styles and shapes like this- genuinely gorgeous! Really flattering.

Flattering*

I am big of tummy and boob and like a bit of ruching round the tummy these days, as per bombshell hq although have only tried their luxe jersey or velvet ones but I think they’re really nicely made and fully lined

Op how tall are you? I have a tummy but have the buy petite for the waist to sit in the right place.

Have you tried to buy a JM dress in a smaller size? The waist gets higher and a little more empire line, which I prefer. Idk if that would work with your breast size, I’m a C/D and it works for me. The wrap style dresses are pretty roomy aka too big for my bust.

I hope you find something you like.

Personally, I would never wear a black dress to a wedding- even if it has a print on it! I'd invest in some support wear for underneath to smooth things out and help slim a few cm's off. Does an empire line dress suit you? I too prefer a V neck due to large boobs.

Thank you. I think it might get too tight elsewhere unfortunately

So I have tummy issues and I've found dresses that come in under the boob instead of the waist a lot more flattering I've bought a couple of nice dresses from Yours... Also I've had dresses from Lindy bop (50's style stuff) and Elsie's Attic the one's I have nip in higher under the bust instead of the waist. Hope you find something beautiful you feel comfortable in

Harebell22 · 06/08/2023 00:11

I have that Scarlett and Jo Isabelle dandelion dress and I can honestly say it is the most flattering dress I have ever worn, literally miraculous at creating a good shape and somehow hiding fat tums and other problem areas.
