Dress for the large of tummy - wedding guest

Hi I am a wedding guest at a fancy wedding.
I used to like tea dress style dresses and things with waist ties. However 5 years on from my last wedding and I'm now large of tummy and these feel uncomfortable. Can you help. Extra points if its navy blue or black with a print. Preferably maxi but midi would do. Have F boobs - I like a v neck.

I've bought this for a wedding and I'm 36gg, it's incredibly flattering and it looks like it's the same shape as this One. My husband actually said wooooow when he saw it on me. I have double checked and the bridesmaids are not in pink 💕

Oh gosh thank you all. I've ordered a navy dandelion one and the coffee one. I'm not sure if the coffee one will be a bit much I don't want to stand out top much!

This one? You’re overthinking. I wouldn’t worry about it if they are. You will not look like a BM in that dress as BM dresses are usually a block colour. Any colour could be the same as the BMs tbh.

Dd and I are going in a similar colour, different dress to a wedding. I did check on that score though because I didn’t want the 2 of us to be toning with the bridesmaids.

It is a shame you struggle with compliments. When I had a lovely figure, I did too. Being the wrong side of 50 and rather overweight, I now know how to say thank you with a smile. But it’s rather too late lol.

I had to nip the shoulders in a bit to make it sit right.
A pp poster mentioned buying petite. Many people who are ‘large of tummy’ are apple shaped. This body shape tends to have longer legs and shorter backs which means things don’t always sit right even if they can accommodate the tummy! My back is 1” shorter than standard sizing (I’m 5’7”) so this gives an idea why a dress might not sit correctly. The extra length in the back on a dress can be accommodated by taking a dress in at the shoulders or sometimes the waist but that’s trickier. The upside is that I have nice long legs 😊

I wore this to a wedding recently.
I'm size 18 and big big tummy but got lots of comments from my very honest friends.

I accessoried it yellow mustard shoes and cardigan to brighten up, but I think it would look lovely with red too
