Invited to an A list wedding- need an outfit!

I’ve been invited to a very high profile wedding. I had planned to lose 2 stone to fit into my outfit.
I didn’t.
So now I have a few weeks to find a stunning outfit (online) but my searching just keeps pulling up the same old shops- Reiss, Karen Millen, SHEIN/boo hoo etc. I’ve looked at needle and thread, Nancy max, the OUTNET.
What great websites can I look at to find-
Budget up to around £500
i suit red/cobalt blue/deep pink/green- jewel colours
I suit jumpsuits/ midi and maxi dresses/high necks if they are high cowl/structured, one shouldered and halterneck things and wide leg trousers and blazers
I like structured clothes but it doesn’t have to be
I don’t suit short dresses or anything wafty or round necks or pastel colours.
I'm size 16, fairly big boobed.

Bonus points if you can find me something!

What month is the wedding and has a dress code been specified? What is the venue like?

I think a lot of the suggested dresses would not work for a black tie wedding, for example, whereas others would not work for a wedding where the ceremony is in a church and the men will be in morning suits.

It was a fair comment, it’s absolutely fine to not like the same stuff

Its funny how all the highly fashionable stuff seems to be so similar - shapeless baggy high neck floor length dresses in various shades of horrible pastels

It's fine not to like the stuff. Presumably something against talk guidelines was said.

Now that is an absolutely beautiful dress, in every way.

You make a good point about the actual venue/level of formality (and vibe of bride & groom) being pretty crucial in dress suitability!
Plus the weather in 3 weeks time is anyone's guess: the supposed 'heatwave', or raining and cool?

Thank you for the introduction to Stine Goya @NatashaDancing. I’m on need of a very elegant dress for my stepdaughter’s wedding and the Elizabeth fits the bill perfectly. I’m most grateful.

@Alsogoingtogetslated is there flex in the budget?

It is posh high profile or cool / fashion forward?

If the former and the budget can flex Susannah London is lovely!

Bombshell or NancyMac. NM do beautiful silk velvet including jumpsuits.

UnicornStarfish · 02/08/2023 15:32

Now I've gone down a rabbit's hole and I don't even need a dress for a posh wedding!

LadyFlumpalot · 02/08/2023 15:37

I LOVE this Sonya Moda dress here. I've got the seashell print one and feel amazing in it.

That would be my suggestion - Bombshell do a range of bright jewel colours and are good for size 16s (like me) - cut to minimise tummies! If you avoid the flowery prints they are classic but flattering and not too identifiable to brand.

Nancy Mac have lovely velvet jump suits too.

PowerToTheGnomes · 02/08/2023 16:39

As a pp said ,I'd look at Bombshell

greenteaandmarshmallows · 02/08/2023 16:46

What's the A listers dress style? Is it edgy or more glam.

@ShirleyPhallus

I think the same, many of these really high priced brands I don't think are smart at all. For a high end wedding I would want structured firm fabrics, but getting the right fit isn't easy. My go to dress is from pepperberry but they have ceased now.

But those structured and form fitting dresses are not in fashion any more. You'd look v dated and out of place at a 'A list' wedding surrounded by others in flowing, floral dresses. Obviously wear what you like but even at your average small town wedding these days no one is wearing those stiff material knee length dresses

The OP's budget is £500. Why are people suggesting polyester dresses from cheaper places.
