Invited to an A list wedding- need an outfit!

I’ve been invited to a very high profile wedding. I had planned to lose 2 stone to fit into my outfit.
I didn’t.
So now I have a few weeks to find a stunning outfit (online) but my searching just keeps pulling up the same old shops- Reiss, Karen Millen, SHEIN/boo hoo etc. I’ve looked at needle and thread, Nancy max, the OUTNET.
What great websites can I look at to find-
Budget up to around £500
i suit red/cobalt blue/deep pink/green- jewel colours
I suit jumpsuits/ midi and maxi dresses/high necks if they are high cowl/structured, one shouldered and halterneck things and wide leg trousers and blazers
I like structured clothes but it doesn’t have to be
I don’t suit short dresses or anything wafty or round necks or pastel colours.
I'm size 16, fairly big boobed.

Bonus points if you can find me something!

If you're big boobed and a size 16, you don't want anything high necked as it will look like a shelf or very matronly, so a lot of what has been suggested isn't suitable. I'm the same, except I'm a 14 on my bottom half. It's a nightmare shopping for nice clothes.

For some reason, I'm thinking of a waistcoat suit. Mollie King was wearing one on Sunday at the cricket (it was white so obviously out for a wedding) but I thought how nice it looked.

Ooh I really went for the print and colour which is not usually me but hey!! Why not? I think you should rent personally but I do like these dresses. I’m currently in the US hence any prices in dollars.

I liked this one too but don’t think it’s right for the boobs… great colour though.

@Alsogoingtogetslated being large of nork also, I like Halston. A few available here on The Outnet. I’d want a seamstress to close up the gap from under the bra to navel on a couple, but personal choice. A good structured bustier will be your friend for the uplift of the boobs.

Have a look also at Rixo and Olivia Rubin

Lovely, but limited bra options:

@Yetisrus29 I am not sure those waistcoat suits are right for a wedding, but I am going to buy one for another event. They are very much my thing.

JMAngel1 · 02/08/2023 06:19

@GarlicGrace
Those Blush dresses are stunning - particularly the first two with the drapes/asymmetry/bustle.
So up my street but nowhere to wear them 😥

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 02/08/2023 06:26

with that timeline:

step away from online and go to a “real”/physical store if possible.
You don’t have time for the return, order again, maybe get it altered spiel.

invest in some tailoring.

Talbot and Runhof might have something you like, but I don’t know if that’s available where you’re at.

I have a black tie event coming up later this year and am thinking of getting one myself just have to find one in a colour I like (and lose some weight).

Some alternatives. You might hate them but they're not as mainstream as the brands you've mentioned.

Klements
Cabbages and Roses
Batsheva
Alemais

Ooh cabbages and roses have some LOVELY dresses thank you! I'm not OP but I do have an event coming up and some of those would be perfect

littlestrawberryhat · 02/08/2023 06:43

Nasty little response. They are a lovely selection of smaller brands that cater to women who are interesting, creative and confident in their own sense of style and in themselves. You don’t need to take someone down like that because they like something different from you. Chances are you will be picking up dresses inspired by batsheva in your local sainsburys in a few years time once that style has trickled down to the basics. I would much rather women like you thought i looked “batshit” than approved of my outfit!!

greenteaandmarshmallows · 02/08/2023 06:44

I don't think it's ok to make light of sectioning tbh. No one is going to be sectioned because they bought a dress some people on mumsnet didn't get.

Really glad that a more androgynous form of dressing- jumpsuits, waistcoats- is now ok for black tie and weddings. I am tall, flatchested, quite masculine features, olive skinned and look horrible in a "pretty" pastel coloured dress.

Maireas · 02/08/2023 06:57

I like Wolf and Badger - you'll find different styles to the High St. Worth a browse.

Maireas · 02/08/2023 07:01

I think those Blush Boutique colours would really suit you. You like jewel colours and the structure is good, not too fussy.

MangoesAndPeaches · 02/08/2023 07:04

Needle and Thread have some stunning gowns and shorter dresses.

NatashaDancing · 02/08/2023 07:07

I avoided Vampire's Wife because from the description of the wedding there's a fair chance someone else will be wearing it. The sizing is tiny as well.

BrookNoRivals · 02/08/2023 07:09

What sort of venue is it, op?

I like them. They're quirky and fun and obviously developed by someone with skill and knowledge. Not everyone likes the same thing!
