In non sales news I went to the pub last night with girlfriends for an early dinner. I was wearing the deep V twill pinafore in slate and as I sat down I heard someone shout out “lovely dress”. I looked over and saw what I thought was one of my friends as she looked so familiar but no, it was Nikki Sher, Head of product and made famous by the live videos, admiring my Toast outfit! I was also wearing black Arizona birkies courtesy of Toast and carrying a woven black and white basket bag from Toast, inside of which was a tan poplin toast jacket. The only non-Toast item was the striped tee I was wearing under the pinafore.
Well, Nikki and I had quite a talk and I even got a photo with her. I must tell you that she was just as lovely as she is on the videos, completely charming and up for a full on Toast chat. It made my night, no year! We spoke about the new Cotton Linen Canvas Wide Leg Trousers which I had just happened to order earlier that day and she said they are the product of the moment, simply divine on, so I am really looking forward to receiving them.
Nikki said there is a live chat today showcasing menswear so I will be tuning in to see what I can buy my husband.
If Nikki didn’t work at Toast, she would be on this thread critiquing, praising and generally enjoying and celebrating our love of all things Toast as well as laughing with us, she was such a delight.
Of course this chance meeting has spurred me on to relook at the Toast website and I have a few sale items in my basket along with the Stripe Organic Cotton Easy Tee. I seem to have a wardrobe that is almost exclusively Toast along with a handful of other things including (sale) Margaret Howell, L F Markey, (old) Orla Kiely clothing, a bit of Kin, Cos (before it took a dip), Plumo and a smattering of other clothes.
