I've only shopped in sale times and only toast for about a year now, maybe longer? I did buy a jumper from COS last year, but I think that was it, and then I shrunk it it few months later anyway. I definitely go through kind of withdrawals after the sale ends, but then once it settles I happily go about my day enjoying having the time back, and I like not generally shopping as a weekly event throughout the year, but I know that a sale ending does provoke me to try just a few last things in the anticipation of having to put the cc away soon!

mizu · 19/07/2023 10:17

@Laska2Meryls please let us know anything about SM (I'm still annoyed at them for having the last sample sale while I was working 😀) as I am off work now for a month or so and may take a trip there.

OftenOrange · 19/07/2023 10:28

@dudsville That makes complete sense, especially as you’ve found some really perfect things. Those dungarees 👋
I have about five Toast dresses, all but one were sale.I find dresses easy to take a punt on, pity I rarely wear them.
Otherwise I’d say most trousers and tops were full price, half of the jumpers were sale.
I’ve never had any luck with Toast jackets or coats .

Do people here think there will be a Fading Summer sale after this bumper Summer one?

MiracleToast · 19/07/2023 10:36

@dudsville I just ordered the robe too 🙈

dudsville · 19/07/2023 10:37

There was an equally big summer sale last year and they still did the fading summer sale, so I woudl anticipate it @OftenOrange .

And thank you, the dungarres are going to get their first outing tomorrow! I'm liking them with smartish button up tops left over from before the pandemic when i dressed a little more smartly for work. When I did my wardrobe clearout the other day I put most of them in the pile to go to charity, but kept a couple specifically for the dungarees!

neveradullmoment99 · 19/07/2023 11:02

Two of my parcels arrived by Royal mail. Its a no for the gingham sleevless dress. I am between sizes. The small is too small on the bust and the medium is just too wide! I don't love it enough to keep it, so it is going back.
The denim dress [ the one that most people have ordered on this thread - the drawstring one] Is an absolute beauty. I love it! and at £65 it is definitely worth keeping. I am a 14 and the medium fits beautifully. I find it a little hard to get on and off as the bottom of it is tulip shaped and rather narrow for my hips! I am pear shaped so shouldn't be a problem for others. I am delighted with it.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 19/07/2023 11:11

Glad you like the drawstring waist dress @neveradullmoment99 , I think it’s really lovely too, can’t believe I passed it by so many times!

lordloveadog · 19/07/2023 11:17

I love that drawstring denim dress too! Thought it wouldn't suit me but actually it's great and will be so useful

ScottishMouse · 19/07/2023 11:27

My drawstring denim dress should be arriving today. Alongside the drawstring collar dress. I can definitely only keep one.

All my orders from yesterday have now despatched. I have an assortment of baskets and quilts coming, but will only keep one quilt and a couple of baskets at most (I think…).

AFingerofFudge · 19/07/2023 11:36

Ooh gosh, maybe I need a drawstring denim dress?! Grin

dudsville · 19/07/2023 11:37

I was sorry that drawstring denim dress didn't suit me. It looks really useful.

Pond arrived today and I went straight to the wardrobe to try it with various things. It's very much a summer dress, even a little see through, but it looked pretty good with a washed black circular tee over it, better under two different alpaca jumpers, interesting with a few other tops but really great under a grey over shirt. So although it does not suit me on its own i will keep it.

I've realised this sale that it isn't sleeveless that doesn't suit me but that the neck line is frequently lower. I avoid V necks for the same reason. I'm glad to have learned this! I may tinker with a few fabrics and see if i can put a little band in the top front just to raise it a little, then i would be happy to wear it on its own.

Brillenbar47 · 19/07/2023 11:46

I have tried this skirt - it is small for toast. I would have been 6 in old toast and I needed 8 in this. I would wear an 8 in m&s or a 25/6 inch jean in Levi's if that helps

Noodle421 · 19/07/2023 11:51

Sooverthemill · 19/07/2023 06:58

Have any of you tried on or bought this Skirt? I'm pretty much a UK 8/10 and the size suggestions are 4 for me! I do not believe this and dint want the hassle of returns. No chance of trying on in store. And in general, are skirt sizes generous? Thank you

Hello, I bought the skirt in both colours. I’m approximately a UK size 12 and I bought a size 12 which is the correct fit for me. I’d say it is a tiny bit snug on my waist (I’ve enjoyed far too much cake recently) and I wouldn’t want to go smaller but the larger size would be too big and as I want to lose a bit of weight I’m not too concerned about it being a tiny bit tight - it still feels very comfortable on and I can fasten the button without too much effort ! I find it flattering for my pear shape which seems to suit an A line silhouette. My hips are my widest part - and the skirt accommodates this comfortably. I‘m 5 ft 8 and the skirt sits mid to low calf. It’s a classic and versatile style in my opinion.

ScottishMouse · 19/07/2023 14:14

Well, it’s a fail here for the drawstring denim dress. It just doesn’t work on me at all. The collar sits too high on my neck and looks weird. I have a short neck and this is a common problem with collars for me.
The drawstring collar dress on the other hand, is a definite contender. It fits well, although I wouldn’t mind a bit more room in the upper arms. I’m really not sure what the point of the drawstring is though, it doesn’t really do anything. I thought there would be buttons all the way up the neck/collar so you could wear it folded over in a sort of turtleneck, but there aren’t, so you can really only leave it open. I need to try it on with a few more things and test how tight the arms are with something underneath, as I’d like to wear it layered in winter.
For anyone interested in either of these, I ordered the denim one in S and that was plenty big, and the slate one in M and that only just fits. I’m a high street 12.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/07/2023 14:47

Well one of my parcels has been delayed with
Evri, so who knows when that will come. It was meant to be at the delivery depot but wasn'[t picked up. Im hoping it comes tomorrow. Going to ask Toast for a refund on postage as I paid for next day.
That's a shame about the denim dress. I agree, think the drawstring is a wee bit strange but I suppose it sinches it in.
Good news about the collared one. Which dress is that though? Is it the gold one?

BettinaInDenmark · 19/07/2023 14:54

My two orders from the double feeding frenzy yesterday are now both showing "fulfilled". Yippie!

ScottishMouse · 19/07/2023 15:18

@neveradullmoment99 , it’s this one: https://www.toa.st/products/drawstring-collar-tunic-dress-slate. That’s the one that I was confused by the drawstring. The drawstring makes more sense on the denim one.

How annoying about your delayed delivery, especially after paying for a faster service. Hope it turns up soon.

I’ve got a couple of their old sizing cord dresses via eBay. One is a size 8 and the other a size 6 (just a tiny bit snug around the bust depending on what bra I wear). I’m looking at either the denim drawstring or the broidery anglaise https://www.toa.st/collections/sale/products/broderie-anglaise-cotton-dress-conker would a size 6 new size be too small does anyone know?

Thanks for the helpful review on the tulip style of the denim dress by the way as I think I’ll have to go for the small rather than extra small - I’m also a pear.

I just ordered the wildflower gown for my mums upcoming birthday, but it remains unfulfilled and now sold out. Have you all been successful of late with orders being fulfilled?

faustina · 19/07/2023 17:00

@MiracleToast - yes, everything fulfilled. Fingers crossed yours will be too!

mizu · 19/07/2023 17:28

Drawstring denim is a winner here too. Arrived today.

I got a S and I'm a 10-12 normally and it's a lovely loose but not too loose fit. Not the easiest to take off over the hips due to aforementioned slight tulip but lovely nonetheless and will be - hopefully- a staple.

MiracleToast · 19/07/2023 17:33

Thanks @faustina 🙏🏽

AmethystMoonShine · 19/07/2023 19:08

Also keeping the drawstring denim dress, as @ScottishMouse says the S is a good size and I’m a high street 12.
Also got the drawstring collar dress but in a M which is a neater fit on me. I like the way that’s styled on the website with the stripes under it and sleeves rolled.

Also arrived today and staying are the Fracap mules in black. So comfy and true to size. I have wide feet and they’re great.

Alpacasoft · 19/07/2023 19:19

The drift pinafore arrived today.
Again so much nicer than I expected.
Looks lovely with a tee under and such beautiful fabric.
I was sad about the Landscape dress and was going to make a check skirt in a similar style but this will be perfect with a cropped jumper over it or a tee under .
My last order of the wool cashmere sweater in clementine and the Loop back jersey charcoal top and trousers are due tomorrow.
I paid £8 to ensure they arrived but possibly won't?
That Moira Frith print.
I'm afraid I loathed it so sent it back with my last order.
They have sent another one in this order Confused

Why have they sent another one? Have they charged you for it?
That's very strange!
Well both my orders came after getting the delayed message.
The linen pinafore in lilac is beautiful. The peacoat looks nice but it's still a lot of money so not 100% sure it's for me. It's slso quite creased.
