Which dress for date day in london? (Pics)

Hello!

I'm off on a date day with my lovely husband. We're going to a few bars followed by dinner in london. It's my first time out in a very long time after cancer and a lot of surgery and I really want to feel nice compared to the sack of potatoes I've been for the last 9 months.

I'm hoping the weather holds out but I'm completely stumped between these 2 outfits. I don't want to buy anything else and these two are really only what fits me as I've lost a lot of weight due to what's happened.

Which outfit please? I'm completely torn. And will the gold heels go with the blue dress if I wore that? I'm a bit out of touch with fashion at the moment. Grin I don't know if shirt dresses are a bit dated now? But I'm scared my norks will fall out of the blue one.

Thank you!

They both look great on you. I like the white one a tiny bit more than the blue one but the blue one looks fab too.
Hope you have a fantastic date 🙂

RebeccaCloud9 · 04/07/2023 13:27

Both look great, but I LOVE the white. Have a great time 😊

PuppyMcPupFace · 04/07/2023 13:27

If I had your figure I wouldn't bother wearing clothes

MissChanandlerB0NG · 04/07/2023 13:27

I like the white. But both are lovely

fireflyloo · 04/07/2023 13:28

I really like both but they both give off different vibes. 1st one a bit more fancy and the second one is more a relaxed vibe. Go with whatever you feel comfy in. You look great in both.

Verite1 · 04/07/2023 13:28

You look fantastic in both. Depends what look you are going for. Shirt dress is much more full on glam and blue dress more low key. The heels might be a bit OTT if it is during the day (and uncomfortable!) but if you like them, go for it.

PeaceGoodMercutio · 04/07/2023 13:30

The white dress really is fantastic on you.

Notcontent · 04/07/2023 13:30

I am not a huge fan of the white dress, particularly with heels. I think midi dresses are a bit more “now”.

Campervangirl · 04/07/2023 13:31

Wit woo!
I love both, prefer the white, shorter one but also love the blue.
You've got nothing to worry about, you look fab in both.
In fact I'd take you on a date and I'm a straight female 😁

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 04/07/2023 13:31

Love them both OP but the blue dress looks so whimsical, I can picture you walking along the river like in a Richard Curtis film Grin maybe a pretty bralet underneath will provide elegant Nork Control?

I'm sorry you've been through the mill and hope you both have a lovely day out together. I'm in the Midlands and the novelty of a day in the capital never tires for me, especially if it involves a cocktail or two!

Alwaystired2023 · 04/07/2023 13:31

Love the white one on you but you look absolutely amazing in both so just go with the one you feel most comfy in?

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 04/07/2023 13:32

You have an incredible figure btw Grin

5128gap · 04/07/2023 13:33

The white is in a completely different class from the blue. It's head turning on you. The blue would mean you could wear comfy shoes though. I don't think the gold heels would go with the blue. Blue is a day dress for trainers or flats imo.

Pigtailsandall · 04/07/2023 13:34

White! Deffo. More contemporary and makes you look very tall.

Have fun!!!

RattyHealy · 04/07/2023 13:57

I think the blue looks really lovely and more suited to a day date.

The white looks good and you've got a fantastic figure but it feels a bit more dated. Are you wearing tights with it or is it the light? I'd lose them if so.

elastamum · 04/07/2023 14:13

You look lovely. I would wear the blue dress with shoes that you can walk in. That way you can have a romantic stroll with your DH without your feet killing you!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 04/07/2023 16:23

Whilst you look incredible in the white, if I was to see you in the blue I'd be thinking about how chic and effortless you look. Your figure is still clearly obvious in it but you would look so comfortable too.

Candleabra · 04/07/2023 16:27

Team White. Blue is the safe choice worn by anyone. The white dress looks amazing on you.

Chocbuttonsandredwine · 04/07/2023 16:42

The white looks amazing on you.

MerryMarigold · 04/07/2023 16:44

I think the blue is actually a crop top and skirt - not a dress. I love it! It's perfect for a summer evening out. Would wear with flatter sandals. But you know, I'd ask your Dh. This is a lovely, special time for you both, and he's the one looking at you, so what would he love to walk round with you wearing?

Doggymummar · 04/07/2023 16:47

You look GREAT.London is pretty casual tho so don't feel you need to dress up. Jeans and trainers would be fine most places, then change for dinner.

Libraryloiterer · 04/07/2023 16:48

The blue is feminine and flirty, perfect for a daytime date. If I were your DH I'd be proud as punch!

Yeah

Ffs we need an edit button!
I agree about London belong fairly casual. I think the blue is more casual but still gorgeous and very much a summer date outfit.

FarTooHotForMe · 04/07/2023 16:57

The blue ones with flat sandals or trainers.
