Which dress for date day in london? (Pics)

Hello!

I'm off on a date day with my lovely husband. We're going to a few bars followed by dinner in london. It's my first time out in a very long time after cancer and a lot of surgery and I really want to feel nice compared to the sack of potatoes I've been for the last 9 months.

I'm hoping the weather holds out but I'm completely stumped between these 2 outfits. I don't want to buy anything else and these two are really only what fits me as I've lost a lot of weight due to what's happened.

Which outfit please? I'm completely torn. And will the gold heels go with the blue dress if I wore that? I'm a bit out of touch with fashion at the moment. Grin I don't know if shirt dresses are a bit dated now? But I'm scared my norks will fall out of the blue one.

Thank you!

Team Blue! Very cute and summery!

Werewolfnotswearwolf · 04/07/2023 18:57

Going against the grain, the blue one is 🔥 🔥 🔥

Esmejane81 · 04/07/2023 19:00

I agree … I love the blue. But you do look amazing in both.

GettingStuffed · 04/07/2023 19:06

White

febbabies2023 · 04/07/2023 19:10

You look great in both but the white edges it for me!

You've got the figure and the skin tone for it so that's my choice

Have a fab time

Crickey OP just seen the pic with the different shoes ... your just showing off now Grin

But agree with your plan and yes to the wedges. I think the dress is missing the belt however as it highlights your annoyingly gorgeous tiny waist!

Wallabyone · 04/07/2023 19:41

I'm so glad you're starting to feel yourself again 😊

Definitely blue in the day, and then white with the original gold shoes in the evening!

Strawberrypicnic · 04/07/2023 19:44

Blue! It looks gorgeous. You might feel a bit overdressed in the white one in London.

Justputitdown · 04/07/2023 19:45

You obviously look incredible in both but definitely the blue for me. The white look is a bit dated whereas the blue looks effortless.

If I had your figure I wouldn't bother wearing clothes

Same. I might stretch to a bikini Grin

Sticks n Sushi is quite upmarket but not exclusive so the white would work well there with the wedges rather than the gold sandals. Blue also pretty and could be dressed up or down for daytime/evening. Wear comfy footwear for walking about.

The London look is very different to say a northern night out look -far more dressed down and quirky I find, quite sassy and elegant (however anything goes I guess) and it depends where you are).

lousyatchoosingnames · 04/07/2023 20:57

You look better in the white, but if it was me I'd opt for blue, as id possibly spill something on the white! X

Thank you for this! That's exactly my plan. Now to find an orange bag and a belt for the white dress.

With the blue dress I have some off white strappy sandals, I think they'll do. I've got a cream small clutch bag too.

I like the blue - I wouldn't be brave enough to wear white, especially to a picnic! The blue dress is also 'on trend', though I'd be wanting to close the top a bit as otherwise I'd expose too much cleavage.
Sticks n Sushi is not particularly upmarket but I find people in London dress from very well to relaxed, and as it's special date the blue (or white if you prefer) are fine. Definitely prefer a belt with the white if you go with that. Nice legs!!

Plentiful · 05/07/2023 08:42

You look lovely in both, but as pps have said, London is ultra-casual and people dress for walking and using public transport, and most tend not to trek home to change for night-time. I would find the white dress with heels and a matching bag a bit overly dressed-up for a restaurant meal myself. Either way, enjoy your trip! It sounds hard-earned.

Penguinsmum · 06/07/2023 12:01

The white is absolutely gorgeous!

IShouldBeSoLurky · 06/07/2023 14:19

Bear in mind at Sticks & Sushi you might end up perched on a stool at a counter, if the shortness of the white dress would be a problem. But you look sensational in both, have a lovely time.

Blue dress 100 % and comfy shoes trainers ! Take a denim jacket or cardigan x

Definitely, the white is a bit dated I agree with the pp. Have fun!

eurochick · 06/07/2023 18:56

Blue for the picnic. White for the evening.

Fundays12 · 06/07/2023 19:00

Both are beautiful and you look stunning in them both but I think the white one is just a bit nicer. It it's a nice day you could wear low wedge sandals with a nice bag if you have them. I am quite envious of your figure your in amazing shape.

RebeccaCloud9 · 14/07/2023 07:09

@HushHushDarling have you had your day out? How was it?!
