here are mine:

always wear nice underwear/nightwear
always wear good fitted clothes - never too tight. better to be a bit on the loose side
always wear nice shoes and always polished
always wear perfume
always have styled hair
use a nice face and body moisturiser every day
accessorise with jewellery, belts, scarves, bags etc
little bit of lippy, blusher, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara goes a long way
always have painted finger/toe nails
get your eyebrows threaded for the best shape
get your eyelashes tinted
shave arm pits every day in shower and also legs if you don't wax them.
don't wear trainers or tracksuit bottoms unless you are planning on doing any actual exercise.
never wear anything with a cartoon character on it.

oh and always make sure to reapply lippy throughout the day. a touch up of your make up in the afternoon is usually benefecial aswell.

Not looking in a full length mirror.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 21/02/2008 17:33

Surround yourself with munters.

chiefcookandbottlewasher · 21/02/2008 17:36

can you retitle this thread 'how to make chiefcook feel thoroughly depressed about how little time she spends on any of the things on the following list'?

Lucy10 · 21/02/2008 17:37

Never have time for all that! As long as I wash and dry my hair every day then it makes me feel better. Rarely wear perfume at the minute, not while my DD is so young anyway.

NKF · 21/02/2008 17:37

Are you serious?

DO NOT LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR NAKED

it really is that simple for me. i am ok with how i look until i see actual flesh.

cocolepew · 21/02/2008 17:50

That's because your blue, sparkly eyeshadow distracts people from looking at your grey roots. I only colour for shine (ahem)

F**king computer

MrsBadger · 21/02/2008 17:55

the key point missed in the OP is that feeling good about how you look and actually looking good are not the same thing.

I don't do half the things in the OP and still feel good about how I look.
I think this has a lot to do with being mostly happy with body shape, natural hair colour, eyebrow shape etc so I don't think I need to tweeze, dye etc to look good.

I may be fooling myself, however .

throckenholt · 21/02/2008 17:59

nappyaddict: sounds to me you are not happy with the way you look - because you are spending so much effort in augmenting it.

Having clean hair, feeling healthy and energetic are when I feel happiest about the way I look.
